Advice: For those wanting a good chance of getting a £9 room. Log on as early as possible (remembering to go through your favourite cashback site first) and keep checking for the sale going live, as come 6am the Travelodge server will crash and die! I've seen these sales go live at 3am before! You have been warned. ;-)

Another tip is to use the 'mobile' version of the Travelodge site, as this doesn't get as busy.

Firefox users: If you think there's a chance you might forget the date then try ReminderFox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1191/ ) it's a free add-on that enables you to set various dates and times that you need to remember.

Decent deal, however based on my recent experience dont expect anymore than a very "no frills" room. The one I stayed at was markedly of a lower quality than a both of the Premier Inns that I also visited recently. Having chatted to staff, it seems that part of the problem is that because they are so cheap and in city centres the rooms often get trashed by rampaging **** up groups.

You'll be lucky to get the lowest prices for London hotels I think. I was looking when the last sale was on and rooms in London were a lot more expensive. In the end we had a rethink and got a hotel in Worthing on the south coast for the bargain rate. As others have said, very basic but what more would you expect from Travelodge?? Anyway, when we go away we dont tend to spend too much time in the hotel.

Thanks Norse. I hadn't heard of that.
I've downloaded and just getting to grips with how it works.

More like a winter sale I think - spring doesn't start until 20th March! At least they didn't advertise it with an Easter egg or Easter bunny, that would have been a bit much for October (still trying to cope with the thought of the Christmas tsunami that is about to overwhelm us).

Excellent Travelodge deal as always, hopefully I'll be able to bag a room in London near Christmas. Thanks for posting Norse.

If you stick to the newly opened ones you shouldn't experience a problem - I've recently stayed at London Southwark and it was excellent, in fact a bigger room and better location than the 5* hotel I later stayed at in Mayfair (and breakfast didn't cost me £25 either). Even the older Travelodges are usually pretty good (perhaps a little scuffed), including London Gatwick which rarely seems to get good Tripadvisor reviews. Perhaps peoples expectations are too high. The cheapest Premier Inn room is £29 whereas you can get Travelodge rooms for as little as 75p!

How?

Previous sale, not current. They've been as low as 25p per room before (Sun newspaper offer), but those deals aren't as frequent as the £9/£15 offers which normally turn up a few times a year.

Hi

This is great. I have spent loads of nights in Travelodges through there cheap offers and they have always been great. We always have a family room for the 2 of us so you have loads of space and the rooms are very comfortable. Our last stay was in September in 1 of the Reading lodges for £10 and couldn't fault it at all.

strange, I often manage to get rooms in central london very cheap - I got 2 nights in central london in january for less than £30 in their winter sale.
I love travelodge personally, beds are clean and comfy, you get en suite bathroom and a tv..who needs more than that?
#35
They're cheap and do the job imo
#36
Travelodges are usually fine - the main problem is with some of the people who stay there. The ones, for example, who decide to hold a party in the corridors in the middle of the night. No phones in the rooms, so you can't get reception to sort it out (and probably nobody in reception either!).
#37
cool thanks

I cant find any for 9£ has the deal expired?
