Go easy on me, this is my first post.

Been looking for a SIM only deal for my daughter which includes good minutes, texts, internet and Blackberry allowance. Her Vodafone contract \was coming to an end and I requested a PAC code which was dispatched and followed by up by a call from Vodafone.
After some straight forward negotiations they offered me the headline deal for £15 per month on a 12 months plan which I accepted. Seems like a good deal to me...................

RETENTION DEAL:Not guaranteed. Deal is £20 online.
- Bully

Take the new business offer and get £120 back via Quidco working out a £10 a month!!!

12 months @ £20 = £240
Cashback = £120

Net cost £120 / Avg Cost per month = £10.

Sounds good to me, am dying to get out of my £35 O2 contract in July!

It's not quite the deal on offer though, at least I can't find it on the site.

If you were offered it, that's great but it doesn't mean everyone else can get it as it might have been a one-off.

Voted hot though.

Good luck getting anything out of them, 7 years and just handed my notice in last week and well glad to be shot. What they offered (and insisted that they couldn't better after making 3 calls) was terrible.
This looks a good deal for very heavy all round users

I hold out no hopes getting anything half decent out of them, I've been with them 4/5 years now - it's through Carphone Warehouse as well and I'm not happy with their customer service(one reason I want to leave)

Seems a good few deals around at the moment though, hope there still is in July - I haven't even got internet on this contract either, O2 want £7.50 a month on top for that :(

Didn't realise this was a retentions deal, though

Long time O2 offered any decent retention deals. They normally just say goodbye these days.

I reviewed all options before signing up, including Top Cash Back, however, couldn't match this deal. It seems that the retentions team have offered me the £25 per month SIM only deal at £15. Seems a good deal to me, however, I'll let the members decide..........

completely agree.... i'd been with o2 for 7 years (on contract, but an additional 4 years on pay & go, even when it was bt cellnet)
then sick of paying £15 a month i find great deals on here! call up and all they say is they can't match it, bye!
seriously no attempt to keep customers

I took this 2 years ago with £100 quidco 1st. Working out at £8.3pm for the first 12month.

Then when it came to time to renew, got extra 500mb per month, and a BB Torch which i sold - contract works out effectively at £3.3pm atm. :D

Not bad but wouldn't want to be tied down 12 months for a sim only deal which is why I am now with giffgaff.

My voda 12months sim only contract is finishing soon. Is there any way to get cashback without porting number out and back again? I dont think they will credit £120 to my account for renewal :(

true , they wouldn't offer me anything at all. they are trying to get people off old contracts, i asked about a galaxy s2 on my current £30 tarriff, they said i gotta change tarriff, i said , how much would i have to pay to stay on the tarriff im on? they said we cant offer you the phone.

I quit last week over poor customer support so these issues don't appear to be isolated. Heads will eventually role. You do not give so many open invitations for other networks to take customers.

Have you asked them? I`ve found that they`ll not be able to offer the full cashback, but may be able to do something else - half price line rental for a year for example.
#21
How do you get the business offer, do you have to show your a business or anything like that or simply just order it as a business and thats the end of it??
#22
agree with the o2 comments, I have been with them for 8 years and the best they could offer me are the prices on the net? and this was when I got through to retentions....o2 new deals are awful as they dont include deals....off to vodafone i think!
#23
this is actually wrong, the business deal worksout to £25 after VAT so really should state £25 not £20 as most who are not business owners will need to pay £25 and not be able to claim VAT

+1 Can't wait for my contract to end next year. Been with them 5/6 yrs and their upgrade deals are getting worse and worse. My sister consistently gets good deals on 12 months contract with Vodafone.

I MOVED TO VODA THREE MONTHS AGO FROM O2.

BILLING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE (EGYPT) IS RUBBISH. I ASKED IF I COULD CANCEL THE CONTRACT AS THEY WERE SO BAD.

BACK TO O2 IN 9 MONTHS.
#26
Vodafone have been fine for me. Their instore customer service has been better than the other networks.
#27
im due an upgrade with vodafone. does anyone know if there doing that free phone upgrade on sim only plans like they done last year?

I missed the TCB deals on O2 and Vodafone a few weeks ago. But, still waiting to jump ship as the PAC expires in in another couple of weeks. I want to pay around £10/month and this deal fits the criteria. Never been with Voda - so decided to ask them a few questions via their online chat. Although, I don't believe the person; however, he categorically states the call-center is based in UK ! I really can't make up my mind whether to go back to O2 or try Voda for a year....

Also the Quidco details on the £20 Tariff don't state the Blackberry option - which on the Voda site is 600mins/UL Texts/1GB Data - I assume it is still applicable?

been with vodafone for over 2 years. never had a problem.

I don't think they are lying - everytime I usually get through to a UK call centre (though sometimes they sound Scottish? Maybe Stoke is just their main one).

Though if you call overnight you will sometimes get someone in India (it's their daytime) but I found them almost as helpful (I find the whole useless Indian call centre a bit stereotyped...). I have occasionally spoken to someone in the UK overnight so I guess they have a skeleton UK staff overnight and then pass any other calls to India.

Thanks - I do agree that not all CC are the same; but Orange are the worst of them all! It is an endless circlejerk, enough to drive anyone insane with rage.

I am almost decided on giving Voda a shot for a year, but the non-cashback claims are making me very nervous....

I have to agree. With regards to mobile phone operators, I have found Orange (India) and Virgin (South Africa?) to be consistently poor. Three (India) used to be the same but I haven't had to deal with them in years, and the fact they used to give amazing retentions deal would offset their poor customer service.

O2's upgrade offers are now rather pathetic so I should be jumping ship asap. Having dealt with Vodafone a few times, I think they are better than the rest.
#34
Can echo those O2 comments, i'm out of contract and rang up to see what they had to offer. £25.50 for the equivalent £20 Vodafone deal, or £15 Three deal, with less minutes. Retentions had nothing to offer either, so i now have a PAC code.
#35
I was with O2 and went off to vodaphone due to what appeared to be 'good value' deals however once on vodaphone the 3G coverage was rubbish and that goes for north and east london and my blackberry messages seemed to take ages to go through. The actual service did not appear stable. Eventually after 12 months passed I went back to O2 and all problems were resolved on the spot not to mention I got a family and friends discount :)
#36
iv just cancled my dd to vodaphone after i signed up with their quidco deal from here about 5 months ago. They where charging me for 0898 numbers when my bundel gave me them free. the "helpdesk" said i had to ring up EVERY month and have this refunded manually cos their system wouldnt update. Not good enuff and oh they hadnt paided auidco after 5 months

How strict are Vodafone with data usage? I use anything between 400 - 700mb data a month and just deciding if to go with a similar deal for iPhone or a £20 a month with 1GB. If I go for the 500mb one and go over, they strict on it?

£5 for each supplementary 500mb, they send a warning text message though.
