94 Peice Pro Socket Set £34.99 @ Lidl

Available from the 7/6/2010

I know its Lidl but at £35 this kit looks worth it. Most likely not as good as the big named brand stuff but for the home mechanic etc these will be a great buy, you never know, they might even be made in the same factory as the named stuff!!

Either way I will be getting a set as it will come in very handy for working on the car

Its not the forged rubbish.. it is chrome vanadium so as long as they fit okay they should last

Might be fantastic value, might be rubbish. I've had some really good tools from Lidl in the past, but not for a long while. Their "specials" don't seem what they used to be.
#4
Are they the polished finish type sockets? Don't look too bad for the money.
#5
Dont touch them, save the extra and buy the halfords professional sets. Lidl tools at the moment dont last two seconds!

My uncle mechanics full time & he has this very set bought last year, the ratchet is now starting to go. Not bad i thought.

I would prefer to go to Machine Mart they have some good socket sets at reasonable prices and their professional range have life time warranty on sockets (not wrench's) :)

If any force put on a ratchet it will go, and is usually considered a consumable replaceable item anyway. (I believe Halfords lifetime warranty excludes ratchet mechanisms.)
