Looks really stunning.

Could have sworn Jordan was one of the countries around the world to avoid but I'm obviously mixed up. Seems that the only relatively unsafe area is at the Iraqi border.

If only I had the money left after I'd paid out all the child maintenance to my heavily pregnant daughters who escaped my underground sex prison.

Why wouldnt it be? Ive been there with no problems. Petra is a must.

Parents went on Voyages of Discovery a few years back, small basic old ship. Its a 35 year old ship. They didnt enjoy the experience having been on Princess Cruises previously and were amongst a very old crowd. Sister ship of 'the love boat' apparently.

Looks like a tour of the biggest hell holes on earth. Good if you like extreme holidays though. Plenty of bullet dodging and ambush avoiding.

A "very old crowd" on a cruise ship is never good, when the ship rolls and pitches all the wheelchairs hurtle to one end of the ship killing anyone in their path.

Did a tour of Jordan in 2003 - wonderful country - although for me Aqaba was the only downside - Petra and Jerash are just phenomenal - esp Petra - wanted to go there ever since I saw Indiana Jones and The last crusade when I was a kid - Felt totally safe the whole time - the south is much more restarined though and the wife felt uncomfortable (even though she dressed properly as required)
#22
In reply to is Jordan safe, I would just like to reinforce that it is perfectly ok.

Was there lastyear on a day trip from Egypt. Petra is really the onlymain tourist thing to do, 1 of the new wonders and unbelievable. You'll have seen it in Indiana Jones Holy Grail. It's a under developed country but magic! Just outside Petra up on the hillside overlooking the the Lost City of Petra there's a Marriot hotel which is fantastic. The views are to die for. A special place indeed.

Underground Sex Prison is a band name in the making - would definitely have made it onto John Peel's playlist back in the day!

Fantastic price, fantastic places. Would go back to them all without hesitation. Unfortunately daughter's wedding at the time of cruise rules it out.

Are you Rhinopauls sidekick or something?? hahaha use your own mind and dont follow others like sheep and use their words:roll:

Yes, there are some lovely sights in these countries, but to say they are 'safe' is a very very nieve thing to say - they are far from safe and in many of these places your travel coach will need to be armed escorted....and there is a very good reason for that!!
