Product Information
The awesome Panasonic TH50PZ80B features Vieras V-Real technology for outstanding picture quality. The Advanced 3D colour management system ensures that colour, brightness and luminosity are independently detected to produce the optimal quality in each, resulting in a picture that is bright and beautiful.
Thanks to 100Hz Double Speed motion technology images are smooth and flicker free. Youll also enjoy atmospheric sound from the integral V-Audio sound system and a wide selection of channels thanks to its integrated digital tuner. An SD memory card slot lets you run a photo slideshow for family and friends on the big screen.

This television is high definition ready which means it has the ability to display high definition signals with the addition of a separate HD receiver. HD broadcasts are at a much higher resolution than regular analogue or digital broadcasts and have greatly enhanced picture quality. The level of detail is astonishing with clearer, sharper and more vibrant images.

1080p
1080p is the purest form of high definition that a television can display. This leads to a smoother, more film-like image, which will satisfy sports and movie lovers alike. With a 1080p signal, the information that makes up an image is displayed progressively or all at once, rather than in an interlaced fashion.

I'll hold my hands up and say that I know very little about tellies, but isn't a grand a bit steep for the telly alone?!?

I'll not vote til I see more about it... Reviews etc, but I still think it's steep. Even if others are flogging it for £100 more!?!

Apart from the Pioneer Kuro this is one of the best Plasma Tv's you can buy but I voted cold as I can get it online for £895.
#3
is that 895 with 5 year free warrranty? If so where from?

After my last telly blew up at 11 months into the warranty I don't think i'd risk a 12 month warranty again!

Its more expensive than some other brands but you pay for what you get.

BMW / Audi are more expensive than Ford but if i saw a brand new Audi RS6 for £20k i'd buy one in an instant , infact i'd sell my house and buy 10 even if i could buy a brand new mondeo for £14k ....

I think your statement about knowing little about tellies maybe a rather large understatement tbh.

Great Tv , Great Price for this Panasonic 50" full hd plasma = Hot Deal !!

Unfortunately my friend it is just with the one year warranty I'm afraid but its £100 cheaper so I suppose you can't complain at least until your in month 13 and it blows up again! When did that happen? Sorry to hear that man. :?

It's a pain in the **** that the Panasonic 5 year warranties have dried up now as of 31/12/08. I think if you are prepaired to pay nearly a grand for a new TV it should also come with a little piece of mind to boot don't ya think?

This is cold because you can't get a price match on this as its not in stock. Even when they do get any they'll shift that quick that they'll never be on the shop floor with a price tag on, which is part of JL's price match stipulations.
#13
Ah! Is that from electrical-deals.co.uk?

Happened a few months back, Brought the last one from them. It broke at 11 months and all they would offer on the replacement was a 3 month warranty. So i got a refund instead. It was a phillips tv but i fancied the quality of the panasonic this time.

I guess the deal depends on whether u see the 5yr warranty as a desirable or not!

How did you get them to price match it at that when the selfridges deal has ceased as they cant get stock?

Suprised they did that. What they usually do is send someone to the store and check that it meets their price match requirement before they'll give you a price match, then they write to you to tell you if they'll match it or not. Looks llike you did alright there under the circumstances.

Nice deal there, so are they still price matching? Do you want the link then or have you received the 46" already?
#35
my Samsung 50" Plasma has just blown up after 13 months of use - I would never buy a plasma again without having at least a 3 year garantee. - Usually the stores try to sell these to you for about £150 - so less than £1000 all in is not too bad - i wouldnt say great though.

No I don't want the link,like I've already stated I ordered the 46" yesterday.

What I would like to point out though is that this is a site where you post deals, not just claim to know of better deals then not make them known to other members.

Erm... Did you type that without thinking fast enough? :giggle:

And what's all this period about? Did you mean full stop, or have you been watching too much yank telly over the festive erm... period?!? :whistling:

Anyway... Once again a thread has drifted from opinion discussion into kiddie rows... Unsubscribed from thread!

Yeh I thought that. I just don't like ending sentances without putting a full stop, period:roll:

The conversation might have got a bit heated, but the issue was, and still is, you don't just come the, "I can get it for this price", without backing it up. Lets face it anyone can say I that can't they. The whole basis of the site is about sharing deals.:-D

A mate of mine bought his 50" for £999 from House of Fraser just before the new year. I had spied this add and scanned it for him.

Only 1 store over here in NI in the Victoria Centre Belfast, but he was told they were expecting more stock in the next week or so. Of course he got the Panasonic 5 year warranty, but I'm not sure if they otherwise do their own???

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e295/faythur/PannyTV.jpg

Sorry, but I don't know how long the offer lasts for, but might be worth a call to someone :)

When I went into John Lewis, Bristol yesterday to buy the 46" model (TH46PZ80B) for £799, I noticed the 50" model (TH50PZ80B) was labelled as £999. So, it was actually displayed at that price in store.

Would've gone for the 50" if I could afford £200 more! But VERY happy with my 46" anyway! :-D
