03/03/10 UPDATE By chance, I noticed my submit has re-appeared in the "Hottest All Time" list (!). So you dont have to trawl through all the deal comments, I'd recommend that you call the Holiday Inn which you think would be a great Wedding venue and ask what their current deal is. Mention that you've seen the £999 deal and see what price they offer. You've nothing to lose. All the best, Jez.

April 09 - Saw this in the News of the World this morning. Couldnt find much mention of the offer on the Holiday Inn website and I didnt want to enquire further cos me Mrs would start asking questions. Go to http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk and search £999 wedding or use the link provided on the 1st comments page.

What a great idea for people on a budget or those who don't want a celebrity-wannabe wedding.

There happens to be a competition to win the £999 deal. But the £999 deal is a deal.

No... it's deal. Read the article.
Think you're getting confused cos NOTW have teamed up with HI to offer the £999 deal as a prize too.
#13
I might marry myself at this bargain price! It'll be the HUKD wedding of the year :)
#14
having recently got married this is an excellent deal. Good find.
#15
Sounds like its a competition....am I understanding correctly??

Sorry i've re-read it and understand now lol
#16
Have some heat here too, however I think some of the things like disco and DJ @ £850 and catering @ £50 a head for sausage rolls and sarnies are grossly overpriced.

Hi I'm new to threads on this website. My fiance and I have booked a £999 wedding. This deal is pretty amazing. My local Holiday Inn (Fareham) were only offering it on Fridays but that is ok with us. Was impressed how nice the hotel was too.

Disco and DJ can easily be around £500, but yeah, the food is over-priced. But, £999, is an absolute bargain.
#23
so how do you book at this price??
#24
We just arranged a visit with the Hotel, had a look around and bingo. As I said earlier this offer was only for Friday's so maybe booked by now. Worth a try though...
#25
if anyone books one of these i'll do the photography for £300 :)
#26
Are you in the Portmouth area and are you any good?:)

how did you book, call/email etc.....do you have a contact number and did you mention the price or did they just offer for £999 ???

Just a quick post - my wife works for holiday inn, they have a huge poster on the entrance to the holiday inn she works at, also you ae restricted to how many people you can have during the day and night i think also this is only for certain days of the week - so i would say hot deal if its what you want.

need to hide this page;-)

Damn right it needs to be hidden don't let the mrs see this.
#32
OMG, there's not a chance in hell the catering is worth £5700!!

£57 a head (and that's if you have the max of 100 people, would work out more pp if less!)..for some pizza, drumsticks, sausage rolls etc...? £57 each for that? Behave! :x

Not too bad a deal for those looking, but really wish they wouldn't try to sell it with such over inflated boll*cks prices.
#33
will suit some of you tight wads that vote anything free 2000+ heat
#34
Great deal for those on a sensible budget - really can't understand anyone who is willing to spend tens of thousands for a wedding.
#35
Great package for those on a budget.

Im not yet married but am fully aware of the ridiculous amount of money ppl end up spending on their wedding day - and im not talking rich ppl either.

Most places charge ridiculous amounts per head for food, which from my experiences is usually nice, but never worth the money!

Even small weddings easily cost £15k+, and ppl often shorten guest lists because of costs.

With this deal those looking to get hitched can share the day with all [well, up to 100] of their friends and family, and can enjoy the rest of their lives without big wedding debts to worry about.

While a beautiful venue makes the day more magical, its often the greatest expense which isnt of greatest importance.

Shame you cant upgrade the menu, but with the drinks flowing and everyone enjoying themselves, the party food will still go down well.

A good deal for those with more sense than money!

It could be well worth asking if you can upgrade the menu if you are going to book, i cant see them objecting to you wishing to pay them more money,

No way would I spend £999 on a wedding,if I ever get married I will do it as cheap as possible and I won't be having a reception at end and all that fuss, I can't be doing with it.
Lol at those saying this is budget,I don't consider this budget but for some who going spend £1000's anyway it is budget. Wonder what the food like if cheap stuff from likes of Iceland.

Yes it did. They even threw in a karaoke (quality I know!!). All you have to do is be weary of the extras!!
