Have the oriental wedding theme and they love you long time:-D

They might as well do a wedding + divorce package for £999

Could always add the divorce deal on to the wedding list
#7
it's a good price depending on the hotel, wouldn't recommend the Burstin Folkestone.
#8
wow you divorce people are full of cheer!

I suppose it's unthinkable that someone's marriage actually lasts as long as they vow!!
#9
Not such a good item for us single folk!!!

Its not the wedding that matters, its the marriage

Better to have the money in the bank to feather your nest than to blow it on a 20k wedding that still only lasts one day

I think it's quite amusing that people see £1000 (plus other costs not included in that I'm sure) is 'cheap' for a wedding :)

If people stopped being 'my wedding must be better than the last one I went to' selfish and short-sighed, they'd start married life with less debt/having wasted less money and so generally better-off all around :)

Cold.

Save £999 by not getting married.

I'm not bitter or owt...

£1000 to feed and entertain and celebrate with 100 people is brilliant.
Good luck when you meet someone you want to marry and you tell him/her that you dont want to spend anything on a wedding, but just want to get a take away instead.

great deal, my hubby spent £30k on his first wedding and it lasted 11 months LOL...although not really a laughing matter as it meant he was poor when I met him.
If this deal would have been around when we got wed, I would have taken it...we spent about £1200 on our very small wedding....that was enough!

That's a big price cut from his first! How much is he planning to spend on his next one? £50?

I'm not even joking i asked my mum and aunt how much they think my wedding will cost they said 50k (my mum will pay most of it of course, i hope lol) im hoping its not as much 50k
i have a big family plus im my family culture there's gotta be lots of food at the wedding and different varieties of food so wont be cheap, will need about 4 cows no joke plus other animals :w00t: and there will be more than one wedding dress my OH's got a big family as well so very exciting :giggle:

my friend's sister got wed last year cost about 35-40k
500+ guests lol

You know what they say about a fool and their money

You do realise you are not MORE married or MORE in love if you spend that kind of money right? Your just as married if you spend a few grand.

Elope its a lot cheaper and way more romantic and you brag about all the money you have saved rather than all the money you wasted

:o !!!!!!!

30k-50k for a wedding!!!!! You know most people would take a couple of years just to earn that much (after taxman)! And most much longer to save up that much!
I guess you're in a very fortunate situation, and wish you the best in what you would hope will be a spectacular day for that much expense!

I think most people woud take that money and buy half a house! - But then I suspect your family is pretty well off if they spent 35k+ on your sisters wedding just last year too!

This begs the question... Do you need to be scrimping and saving on HUKD? :p

I got married in May 2005. I'm not big on weddings, my husband had been married before and I'm really tight. ;o) I think we paid about £80 for the registry office (you have to pay for documents and stuff) and then we went to the pub for a couple of drinks. Then we went back to my mum and dad's and had some sandwiches and nibbles. I think including our wedding rings we spent about £150.

However, my husband spent £1000 on my engagement ring (I wasn't pleased!) and we spent about £2000 on the honeymoon - 2 weeks in Cyprus.

I have no mortgage.

:D

Ordered 3 - Cheers OP!

So true, considering financial problems are a marriage killer, thats my kind of thinking, Marry Me!

Great value!
We have just arranged to be married in New York. They were asking £1200 each on a basic package for a room ,button hole and minister!
Tickets extra.
I have a very good source for suits ,too. If it works out (mine is in transit) I will post a link.
If you are stuck for a suit PM me and I will send a link ;)

Mrs and I trying to arrange a small wedding and so far the biggest rip off has been the Registrar its like £350 to come out to the venue plus a deposit (doesnt come off cost) and you have to register to get married... another £30 each please!..... You talking like £500 for basically admin work.

My advice go to as many wedding fairs as you can and pig out of free cheesecake, and then go about pissing off as many of the money grabbing gits as you can!... "ill take some pics, pay about with photoshop... cost £1500" yeah right.

Voted Hot, married on a shoes string in 1992 and still very happy!!!

Another great deal! I was trying to convince my girlfriend that these were a good deal and she wasn't having any of it. We had a good ol' discussion about it that's for sure. I'm more of the opinion that it's the marriage and vows that count, not the day itself. Apparently I am wrong, "It's the most important day of a girl's life, so you can't be cheap on it." Pfft. Though, in her defense, it was the Premier Inn hotel, so I guess a motorway service station wedding wouldn't be the most memorable occasions, but still!

My friend's wedding has already cost them over £10, 000, and their not even married yet. 10% of the price, and save plenty of money for the honeymoon. (That's when we get our prize for having the wedding isn't it, fellas? ;-))
