Lemony Snicket's world famous saga about the charming, intelligent and grossly unlucky Baudelaire orphans continues to alarm and depress its ever-growing number of distressed fans! Here, the entire series - thirteen full length novels on 53 CDs - is read by Tim Curry, adding an even more dastardly and evil dimension to this already miserable tale. Lemony Snicket advises, "if you may be more comfortable getting a good night's sleep, I suggest you should probably choose some other CDs to save yourself from a heapful of horror and woe". This unique audio collection comes in a handy travel tin so you can take your sorrows with you, wherever you go.

Set titles and authors :
The Bad Beginning * The Reptile Room * The Wide Window * The Miserable Mill * The Austere Academy * The Ersatz Elevator * The Vile Village * The Grim Grotto * The Hostile Hospital * The Carniverous Carnival * The Slippery Slope * The Penultimate Peril * The End

Voted hot. Although I can't find this sold elsewhere (haven't looked hard though!) the individual sets (3 books per set) are a tenner on Amazon so that would be £40. I'm very tempted to get this for my 9 year old neice.

Please note Daniel Handler (as Lemony Snicket) reads books 3, 4 and 5 in place of Tim Curry.

Can you provide a link? I can only see them at £3.49 per book which is pretty good value anyway

riker71, these items are audio books not traditional books with pages. :)

Regardless I tell a wee lie! The cassettes are about a tenner, the CDs are more like £20 - £30 with some individual 'books' (on CD) as £6 to £15. Actually Amazon's prices are all over the place with these items! Just type "lemony audio" into Amazon search box.

I don't understand why this isn't getting more votes as a "Hot Deal" ??
It's a superb offer for such a popular title and surely would make a fantastic Christmas present for someone.

Voted Hot. Rep left, well spotted OP !

ps. Go through Quidco for an extra 5%. Choose standard postage not next day and there will be no delivery charge as shown on the payment confirmation email.

It is a good offer and, like the Roald Dahl CD set that The Book People have had over the last year or so, this set doesn't appear to be available anywhere else. These are great in the car and Tim Curry reads them in a suitably sombre tone.

The Book People also have the full set of books available for £27.99 if that is preferable.LINK

That's a Very Fetching Deal ;-)

Well I've plumped for it after all! :)

Not sure about the postage situation because I put in the 163A code and also saw the banner after that saying "free postage worth £3.50 for orders over £25" but I still had to select either next day or standard. I picked standard and it said postage £1.75 on payment page.

The confirmation email says "TOTAL COST* £26.00 *IMPORTANT: The total order value displayed in this email excludes any postage costs and any discounts applied based on your order value." So I guess wait and see what gets charged to my card.

Thanks again to OP  - this deserves to be on www.trulyhotukdeals.com (no it's not a real site! :p)

Can anyone confirm these are unabridged? The phrase full length novels suggest they might be but then the 4 cd's per book suggest maybe they aren't. I assume these novels aren't very long if they are unabridged and fit on only 4 cds.

Thanks, these are brilliant, quite dark stories. Good price and find

According to wikipedia (and the picture of cover on Amazon) they are unabridged but I can't confirm it 100%, however, I believe the books are quite short being childrens books and 4 full CDs is over 5 hours of audio time so based on all that I'll hazard a "yes, unadbridged."

Great find.
I spotted this one last night and will be grabbing a copy for the dark nights of winter.

If it's any help I have the first story, unabridged, as a download from Audible - the running time for that is 2hr 49m (and 6 seconds). All the actual books appear to be roughly the same size so presumably would be of a similar length.
