I've had these before, don't expect a lobster dinner from it....

Not bad, but rather small, comes in a cylindrical plastic like sleeve with lobster and water frozen solid inside.

I saw those last week. Haven't tried one myself but if the Aldi ones are anything like them they're tiny.

If you look carefully there's a lobster in that picture!
#21
The packet packed with ice seemed huge, the drained weight including the shell is just over 300g. Therefore after you have removed the shell and head there is about 100g - 150g of lobster meat. Which means at £5 means :-

£50/ kg of lobster if you could get 100g of meat from it or,

£33 /kg of lobster meat if you could get 150g of meat out of that £5 small lobster.

On this basis I am out unless it is fresh as once it is frozen most of the flavour is gone.

She could get the world's worst nipple grinder there if she's not careful.

I bought some of the Lidl ones last year, they are small, so I used them on a 1 per person for starters basis, they do actually look great on a bed of mixed lettuce. The claw meat is very tasty, although a little fiddly to get at, even with the correct lobster implements! I'd definately buy them again, they were a definate hit with my family, everyone commented on how different it was, and also they tasted good. As long as you don't expect gourmet shizzle for this price, seriously, you can't go wrong.

I doubt it matey...its a cooked lobster lol

voted hot just for the recurring picture

I think that lobster's blushing.
#26
Oh look at that piccy. Throw a bit of tartare sauce on there, loverly.
#27
These Lobsters are tiny, more like a Large Crayfish to be honest. They are fiddley to get at and the amount of meat you get is not worth it. You'd be much better off seeing your local Fish Monger and buying one from there if you plan on buying more than two.
#28
I think the lesson is if you want to have lobster you shouldn't do it on the cheap.

Aldi beluga caviar anyone?
#29
I'm allergic to lobster but I brought 12 as it's such a good deal

Don't think these would even be legal size for taking in UK waters...

A delicious, meaty whole Canadian lobster

Might be small, just think of it as a giant, tasty prawn

add melted butter, yum!
:)
