>Bargain price for current year road atlas

Being the "2009" edition it is probably last years road atlas.

Still cant complain at 89p for a road atlas.

I'm all for new technology. Anyone got a post code for B&M so I can stick it in me satnav to go and buy one of these "road atlases", they sound fun.
#3
You may mock but at least you can leave an atlas on the seat of your car and it will still be there when you come back!
#4
Always carry one in case the satnav goes kaput.... wish I could remember how they work...:?

Very true

Paper maps will always beat Satnavs and Google Maps etc. You need the perspective of the larger format to get a feel for where you are going and the best way to get there.

I would buy this but I'm skint cos I just ordered a Tomtom 940! Woo hoo!

89p, bet there are roads missing. Hey, wait a minute, thats what you get with Satnavs costing £100+.
Good find and voted hot.
#9
Cheers. Must get a copy to compliment my Sat Nav for larger maps. Do theives steal Road Atlases or Sat Navs? Go figure.

i wish these northern monkey shops would come down south.

i heard in the news the other day that the system that supports the satellites in space that do sat nav will ultimately fail due to lack of funding and investment, so it will be handy to have this. (y)

A good deal, it says 6.99 on the front cover

This is absolutely unbelievable. Has everyone gone nuts?

1) Its last years - no really, 2010 come out start of June... thats close enough for me.

2) They ALL say £6.99/£9.99 on the cover, but I've not seen them sell for that ever - not even in motorway services.

This is standard price, and last years as well. Cold. and I can't believe there are no many people here who have voted hot. Take your medication.

Also available from almost any supermarket, motorway service station, local shop... yup pretty much anywhere.

:-(sat nav sucks big time because it mostly works off post codes which are not desisned to find places they are for royal mail to deliver mail get a map and use your brain. The more gps units people put in there cars the more chance the government will be able to spy/tax you :-(

It's 89 pence, how is that "absolutely unbelievable" and a cause for medication?

Incidently I've just been offered them price maked at £9.99 for a trade price of £3.60 each - go figure???

These usually retail for £1.99 ( despite the £6.99 cover price ) at various outlets / supermarkets every year after xmas so top find / deal at this price for a 'reliable' current 'manual' tw8t-nav...have some h and r ! x

Bah Humbug! I always use Postcodes and it takes me pretty near my destination. And I can just add the house number if I want it exact.

Just having any old GPS in a car won't get the Government snooping on you. They will want to install a highly expensive and complex paperwork application processed device and then charge you through the nose for anything you do!

I love Satnav but I do also love browsing maps. And having got 100% in my Pilots License Navigation Course I reckon I could manage with a paper map only if I really wanted, Lol. :-D

this is a good price

i still prefer maps to sat navs. bought tomtom and never use it.

i just dont like the way my tom tom works, sometimes it dont even pick up a signal, when it does it always shows me a route i would never intend on taking. Even the alternative route it comes up with is tat. I find it so much easier using a map and feel these sat navs were only designed for women drivers who normally are clueless on the roads.

Sat nav will never be as good as local knowledge. A road can get clogged up if it is narrow, has lots of shops, near a school etc. But if you have no clue how to get somewhere then Sat Nav is great. Even if it does take you a mile or two longer.

I am hoping the Tomtom IQ routing will help as it uses historical road speed data to route you a way that is the quickest. Even though it might be longer or go a funny way.
