I just recieved a letter from Ford (who i bought my car off 2 years ago) informing me that they can save me 75% off of any level of cover from the AA, all you need to do is the following:-

Call AA mebership on 0800 975 8131

Quote - FORD (at this point you may be asked for a 16 digit referance number quoted on the letter you recieved to obtain this discount) i didn't have one of these numbers, i just told the AA that i bought the car two years previously and that i hadn't had cover for 1 year , they said "thats why there will be no referance number" and applied my discount.

Select the level of cover you require, listed below with saving

Roadside - Normally £53, with discount £13.25
Roadside + Stay Mobile - Normally £91, with discount £22.75
Roadside + Relay - Normally £103, with discount £22.75
Roadside + Homestart - Normally £118.50, with discount £29.63
Roadside + Relay + Stay Mobile - Normally £141, with discount £35.25
Roadside + Home Start + Stay Mobile - Normally £156.50, with discount £39.13
Roadsie + Relay + Syay Mobile + Home Start - Normally £190.50, with discount £47.63

Don't let them fob you off with any other prices, these are the prices you pay if you quote FORD - Good luck and happy motoring!!

so this will only work if you have a ford? :(
great price though
#2
does it matter how old your car is for this offer?
#3
Oooh, wonder if they'll do it for my hubby's 9 year old Ford Ka. Ours isn't due for renewal until next month though.
#4
oh ... just done mine with churchill :( nice find
#5
They did ask for my registration as you'd expect with the AA but just try it, nothing to loose!! you can always try and say you had a new car but had to sell it - credit crunch and all - but you still recieved this letter from the dealer, nothing ventured, nothing gained, such a good price too!
#6
wouldn't that be fraud, though :x

I've had this letter with my Saab so I'd say it available to most people who have bought a new car in the last year or 2. When I phoned they knew exactly when my warranty with the dealer had come to an end.

I'd be tempted to ring and say my friend has had this offer and can you do the same for me...........I'm usually with the RAC etc

Cold: Didnt work with my Renault Megane

Voted hot for ford owners

This works with Ford, Sabb, Vauxhal, Peugeot, Renault etc.

If you got free AA Breakdown cover with your NEW car and your warranty lapsed within the past 12 months you can take up this offer.

The same goes with the RAC with Nissan, Toyota etc.

All they need is your vehicle make & reg to verify.

This only works if you got cover free previously when you bought the car & it is less that 12 months since the warranty ran out.

Hope this helps

Don't forget RAC basic for £28 minus £20 quidco too. On a minus this is only for a specified vehicle rather than covering the person.
#14
oooh. I was going to make a post today asking for help for breakdown cover.

My car almost packed in at the weekend after an oil leak went undiscovered. But decided i really do need this in place now when im commuting 90 miles to work. Hell of a distance to be from home and breakdown.

So, if this deal is just for Ford's, who's my best bet? Including quidco deals and such?

I've just cancelled my policy after 1 years membership, do you think I can get another £20 quidco if I re-join?

Thanks

Cool Avatar

However I don't see that covering a single car is a major issue for most people, we have 1 car in the family so it wouldn't be a problem, although if we had two then it would be less good.

I don't see why not. That's what I will be doing.

I took out two policies using mine and the OH's Quidco accounts to cover both our cars and it tracked and paid out fine. Mine went through for £27 with £21 cashback, so £12 for 2 cars I thought was a bargain.

Thank you for the tip :), I've just joined at the knockdown price. The only question they asked me was my previous AA number. I told them I had never been a member, which is true, and they proceeded without further ado. Pity I didn't see this last week when my steering column seized up and I needed to be towed.

Just taken out membership with aa for £47.62 after quoting ford told the sales adviser i have received a letter from ford saying i can save 75% off the normal cost was asked to quote a reference number i told adviser it says quote ford.
Its a personal membership i can use it in any car as passenger or driver.
I had my Rac renewal and was quoted £184 so HOT for me

this wouldnt work with an older car would it ?
#23
Hey i got the same letter but it said quote "Vauxhall" instead.

To be honest i think it will work for most cars, they just place it with a different make,

I could be a bit late for this as I bought my car in June 05, Do you think I`ts worth calling them to ask? Don`t want to look silly ! I`ve been looking for a great deal which includes european cover, cheapest I`ve found is £60, Maybe that`s the best I`ll get. I`ll keep looking tho. If anyone knows of a better price please let me know, thanks,Rep & Heat added as It is a great offer if you can get it.

I've just bought a 2000 Mercedes CLK (yesterday!) and I'm looking at breakdown options currently.

I wonder if I can get this deal?

I was looking at the £150 odd level of cover, so if I can get it for £40 or so, I'll be a very happy HUKD-er!

If I were you I might just join RAC next year using quidco, then switch to AA the following year. giving 12 months break Im sure they will classify you as a brand new customer :-D

This is what im thinking .. erm my car is 17 years old do you think they may catch on?
#28
Think the car has to be less than 2 years old, should get it if you have a ford and dont mind lying on the phone
#29
£60 is a good price inc euro cover. Do you mind me asking who this quote was with as i'm looking for similar cover. Many thanks :)
