AA breakdown from £28.00 online + quidco

Guys really great offer! Basic package is £28 if you do it online (this price includes the online discount that you get).

But with quidco they give you £21 back so effectively you get 12 months basic membership for £7!

Plus you get 2000 nectar points but not sure if quidco and nectar can work together but I rather go with quidco!!!

Quidco always do good cashback for AA, I did it last year and got mine for just under 1/2 price - i'm sure Quidco are offering the same deals as then so this isnt really a deal, unless i'm wrong.

But OMG the AA prices have shot up this year. I'll be comparing prices (after Quidco) before making a decision because its just got so expensive grrrrrrr....

Not voting either way because this isnt news to me.

Quidco and nectar don't work together but when i purchased mine, I rang the AA straight after purchasing through quidco and gave them my nectar number and they added on my 2000 points and I was in profit :D

AA didn't even pay my cashback, even though the transaction was valid. It took them four months to respond to Topcashbacks query and 'confirm' I was eligible for it, however the new claim went straight back to £0 payable and I'm back to square one...so don't go relying on the cashback as they seem to be very shifty when it comes to paying it.

Mine tracked straight away, but it took about 4mths to get the actual cashback. So its great if you can afford to pay the full whack and wait for your money, but everyone has to remember it could take a while to actually be paid :)

Depending on your situation, have a look at vehicle membership rather than personal. There are three drivers in our house and we share one car - it cost £100 for the car to be an AA member with Homestart, roadside and relay cover, far cheaper than three personal membership fees. Of course this means you won't be covered in other vehicles.

i have opted for basic plus onward travel or whatever they call it. total came to £66 summat but I opted to pay monthly about £6.85. This gives me added benefit as I can then cancel within 30 days notice. I also opted for the driver policy which covers me to drive any vehicle as opposed to a single vehicle.

Even if quidco doesnt go through I am happy to pay less than £7 per month for peace of mind! sorry guys if it isn't hot to you but I loved it! lol.

best deals are the ones you find when you need something the most!

Go with RAC if you want it definitely paid...

Agreed about cashback from AA, mine tracked straight away but was declined a few weeks later, currently undergoing an earnings enquiry to get cashback.:whistling:

Anyone know if you can take this out for foreigners, we have friends coming over from Australia and I'm lending them my car for a month and this would be handy, if anyone knows that would be great, if not I'll give them a call tomorrow :)

I did RAC through fatcheese last year, it took months for the RAC to validate it. Got it in the end ( £28 off £28 spend :D) Have done AA through fatcheese this year, when I rang the RAC to cancel - the renewal came through as £45-, they wanted to price match. But too late never mind the cashback.

May 18, 2010 The AA Pending £19.00 cashback (so not as much as quidco)
ps just noticed on fatcheese "£0.25cashback on Collect in Store purchases @Argos"

In 3 years of using Quidco, the AA's is the only cashback ever to decline.
Go for RAC, similar deal, more reliable for cashback :)
#12
Mines up for renewal and the shifty barstewards were going to put my dd up to 15.60 a month from a tenner. :x So Id better get my 60 quidco from my 100 renewal.
#13
Funnily enough AA have been the only ones who have paid out via Quidco for me without any hassles. They do state somewhere that payment is in a few months none the less they have paid me which more than others via Quidco.

I have found topcashback absolutely rubbish, I have been waiting for 2 Argos transactions £1 each for two months now also did the Paddy Power when it was the Grand National - £15 did not track and now I have raised a query, took 3 weeks for TCB to answer and still waiting for retailer to respond.

I will not be using them again.

i payed £28 for some breakdown cover i found on here a few months ago. phoned them up a week ago, and in less than an hour they were there, sent me a text to say they were on there way and when to expect them too. they were also willing to tow me anywhere i wanted. great service imo.

no need for this AA lark :)

Good deal - heat added!
#19
If in doubt about quidco from AA use the RAC with quidco.

Never had a problem getting quidco payments with RAC!
#20
perhaps add the amount of quidco cash back to the title?

as that makes the deal so much sweeter!
#21
is AA good or Greenflag considering quidco and price?
#22
After a year do they then charge automatically renew your membership? And if they do is it the same price/?
#23

I found that with the AA car insurance, when paying by DD at renewal they put the price up and hoped I either don't notice or was too lazy to do anything about it :whistling:
Instead i shopped around and got it 50% cheaper elsewhere, not impressed by these dirty tricks from the AA tho :?

If you pay on direct debit, you will find (with any insurance, be it home or car or whatever) that it WILL automatically renew for you each year. That is part of your peace of mind: you will not believe the amount of people who believe they are still insured although they have not paid for it. Also, you do NOT have any day grace: when your policy is finished, it is finished.

You will also find that lots of companies offer introductory discounts - only available for the first year; and you would be hard pushed the get a same deal next year. You might not know that the brokers do not actually make money the first year round at all, and they would not survive if they gave you insurance at cost price.year on year.

Last but not least: look at what you get. Breakdown cover is pretty much the same whether you use RAC or the AA. Pretty quick call out, high repair - on -the -side - of -the -road rate, decent price.

Check what other benefits you get - I happen to know that as an AA member you get discount at certain garages, MOT's, days out etc. Most likely you get similar deals with the RAC.

No person with a car should be without breakdown cover!

Used Quidco before for AA, and was then declined on trying another year. Also used RAC one year with Quidco. Currently we have Autoaid which is £37. This covers wife and myself and both cars for the year. Gets good reports, haven't needed to use yet though. Worth thinking about if you can't use the Quidco/TCB deals again. MSE has a bit on it.

will need to check this properly tomorrow... is there an expiry date?

sickly sweet

I can't see any problem to cover foreigners as they cover the Car, doesn't matter who is driving.

We took out joint AA membership last year for £60 on a continuous DD. The renewal for this year was a staggering £178 (we'd called them out a couple of times last year). I phoned and cancelled, then bought through TCB costing £88 for joint membership, less £42 cashback, then I phoned the AA and gave them the code for nectar points which will be added within 28 days. Be aware though that if you havent got roadside relay and break down away from home, not only do you pay for the upgrade to roadside relay but they charge a hefty £50 "admin" charge as well.

was a little concerned with AA not paying out on quidco, but after 6 months of wait i got it lol

i've used them once as well and it was fine.. a nice little surprise :P
#32
I did mine yetserday - joint Roadside and Relay for 88 quid, with £42 to get back from quidco which was very good value.

The renewal quote came back from the previous year at £145 - £100 more than I've actually paid.
#33
I just did the roadside, recovery + homestart package (£100) for the vehicle as we have 3 drivers for it and quidco tracked the £50 cashback straight away at least.

I also did coverage for a weekend we are driving in Europe, quoted £12 (with membership discount, £14 without), for the weekend European coverage and it tracked a cashback of £9 - so only £3 which I thought was definitely a good deal for peace of mind away.

I took out car insurance and breakdown with the AA and used Quidco, which comes to £100, never received a single penny of this, quidco informs me that the payment must have been made to another site, BUT I did NOT get anything, so watch this very carefully!!.
#36
I took a similar deal with the RAC last week through TCB, it hasn't tracked yet.
#37
I use my Tesco vouchers every year £150 worth of cover for me and the wife in 2 cars for £38 worth of Tesco vouchers,
#38
I took out this deal at the end of March and the Quidco has just been paid, very quick and wasn't expecting it until the back end of the year.
banned#39
Local promotion was offering this to me last weekend for abit less than this £26.00 for the year I think.

But I get AA completely Free with my bank!

........Good deal. Took this out a few days ago, Roadside, Relay, Homestart £100. Quidco tracked in at £50 a day later.
We have 2 cars in the house but took out single membership - not too bothered about driving upto the wifes car if she has a breakdown. Question is can I also do the nectar card thing, even though quidco has tracked OR will quidco be declined ??
