anyone tried this???
#3
Wheres code from?

Excellent, this was on last May when I signed up. If you set up a new account through Quidco for around £8 net and then call up and add Relay. Loads of us did this with no problems. If anyone knows when this ends that would be great or I might just set up a new account this month as £18 for AA with Relay is a bargain! Just use a new address! Actually don't register at your own address, use a relatives, then if you can't get the car started they will come out as you are not "at a home address".

Do you have any idea about last years deal, where it said "continuos membership" does this mean you'll have to cancel this year or they'll take full membership from your account at renewal?

Not necessarily.

They are hoping you will continue with it when renewal comes, and they sting you for the full price.
#10
I ring every year and do this, thats after getting it cheap via topcashback aswell!
#11
Wouldn't trust AA - they ripped me off big time after 12 years of membership.

Voted with my feet and joined RAC instead!

I cancelled the DD as soon as the relevant subs had been taken. They will then send me renewal letters but I will just sign up at a different address.

Usually alternate between RAC and AA, not much to choose betweeen them really.

How much to add Home Start?

Or is it easy/easier to register yourself at a different address and then if you are at home and car won't start, you can ring up and get them out as you are not "at home"?

If you take basic cover I agree but do the RAC do promos such as this to add on a relay type service cheaply?

I am all over the motorway network so wouldn't want to be towed to a local garage at 7pm on a Friday!

I am concerned that they could easily check if you ACTUALLY live at registered address???

My membership ends in May and I only have Roadside at present (bought with Quidco cashkback). Am tempted to wait until end of Feb and join at mother in laws address then use £10 relay deal to take me through to Feb 2011.

Does anyone know if Relay deal comes up at other points in the year?

""Do you have any idea about last years deal, where it said "continuos membership" does this mean you'll have to cancel this year or they'll take full membership from your account at renewal?""

Just hope you haven't signed up using a credit card, otherwise its £20 to cancel otherwise in theory they can take money forever and a day

Something I was wondering is if I'm staying over at my gf's house and parked in her driveway or in the work car park - if I couldn't start the car is that considered roadside if you don't have home start?

Yes, as long as she doesn't live around the corner from you! Doesn't matter where you are, as long as you're far enough from your home address. I've called them to the car park at work before no probs.

excellent deal

Have signed up for roadside (which is tied to one vehicle) recently. I called them up with this reference number to add an relay. According to the CS guy, reference number is not valid for people who are with AA for lessthan 5yrs. However was offered roadside + relay on any vehicle for an extra £14.50.

Worth I suppose?
#27
good find i just signed up for 28 and got 21 cash back so that breakdown cover and relay for £17:thumbsup:

Hi,

I signed up to the basic roadside via quidco just over a week ago, and the transaction has tracked, but not validated yet. I am a bit worried that by ringing up and adding this before the cashback has validated that it might get cancelled as it wasn't completed online? Anyone know if this is the case? :)

HOT !!!

We did this last year for my wifes car and I've been patiently waiting for it to appear again for my car

When I phoned up to stop the renewal of my RAC (renewal price was ridiculous and didn't feel I should have to haggle just to get a decent deal) they told me one of the main benefits of the RAC over the AA is that the AA won't assist after an accident but the RAC will...
#31
Just done it myself.

£28 roadside + £10 Relay - £21 Quidco.

How do you rate the deal with the thermometer?

seems a good price for full package though you may be able to get a further discount via a cashback site such as QUIDCO.
Personally I much prefer the QUOTELINE package, same UK benefits PLUS full European cover for £59 a year which includes full 24hrs service...

Does http://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/ work out better?

Never used them but Moneysaving Expert always raves about them.
#37
Bit late, but just tried to take this up. Told code only works for long standing customers (4 or 5 years). So good deal, if that is indeed the case. But not working as advertised.
#38
I'm a new customer & it worked fine for me.
#39
Same her, only been a member this time for a few months
#40
Yes my renewal came in at just under £100, so I rejoined via the web saving over 40%..
Found this deal minutes later...
Only joined in last 2 weeks.. and have just called and had relay added for the £10..

Top marks to Op!
