The cheapest this normally is, is around the £40 mark. Amazon have marked it down to £35 for the first time in ages, and is a great price for a 60.9% volume single malt scotch (Yes, its strong, and needs a little water). I would not expect this to get hot, but hopefully some of you whisky fans out there will spot this and grab yourself a lovely tipple for a nice price.

I'm not 100% sure what batch no. they are selling on Amazon, but someone mentioned they got Batch 55 in October. (cheers for the correction 634miyamoto!)

IWSC Awards Tasting Note: Very attractive aromatic nose filled with ripe fruit some sherry notes and a faint, gentle waft of peat. Rich and full in the mouth with layers of ripe fruit and sweet spice. Good oak and fine balance. Vanilla makes quite a show towards and feisty finish.

60%! Hot, that means you need to drink 2/3 less to get as drunk as you would on the 40% stuff. :)~

hot, lovely dram for those that like it
sweet

very good price. love this one. one of my favourites.
#4
Love Aberlour so ordered this one as just finished another bottle of Laphroaig Quarter Cask
Heat added
Won't be adding any water to it though as for me it dilutes the taste and the initial "hit"

Me either. I will add a couple of chunks of ice though. That will dilute it more than enough....I just need to remember to drink it quick enough that the ice does not melt too much!

As HamanBasher said, its still £35 with amazon (check the right hand side of the product page for Amazon's price). The higher price was for a marketplace seller.

Ice chilling a good single malt?! That's heresy!

Surely a nip of room temp distilled water is the way, esp at 60% .

What do you think they add in the distillery to bring it down to 40%? ;)
#18
Less sugar for the yeast to turn to alcohol?
#19
I think you meant batch number, not cask number. These are cask strength but still vatted, I believe

Yeast dies after about 20% alcohol. Hence the need for a distillery.

Cheers for the heads up. Not sure I could get away with buying a 2nd bottle (divorce proceedings might ensue).

Incidentally, I got Batch 55 delivered a few moments ago from Amazon.

Yep - no water and no rocks! They both dilute the experience. Nice find and thanks op.

Was really excited to try this, so disappointed now. :O(

If you really ordered the A'Bunadh and were delivered the standard 10yo then you are due a refund/replacement - they're not even close. The 10yo can be had for £16 somedays in supermarkets. Amazon are still offering the A'Bunadh at £35

Ive had the exact same thing today, i just filled out a return form as i thought it was a genuine error. Looks like there taking the ****. Are you going to file a return, im really annoyed as it was intended to be a gift dont think this is going to be sorted in time!
#35
Any updates on how this has been sorted for you guys . . .

Its a heck of a mistake for any seller but for Amazon . . . shocking, let us know.
#36
I have had this issue with Rum before, sent me a standard strength version of the same brand, worth less money. they refunded in full and let me keep the rum. Does seem to be an issue with amazon

They emailed me saying they will collect it from me rather than having to go to a drop off point, which is alright its still frustrating as i wanted it for a Gift, but mistakes happen and as they run their warehouse staff ragged its not a surprise. Think this is going to be my last order with Amazon.
#38
Are they supplying you with the correct product?
#39
After finishing the bottle of cask 55 60.9% I reordered another one with 1-2 month delivery for Xmas.
Well it arrived today and was really pleased when I opened it to find a bottle of Cask 56 which is 67.2%
Yyyeeeeehhgaaaahhhhh!
:p

Just realised it's 61.2%
The 1 looked like a 7
