I love backpacks that pack into very small size, have about 6 folding backpacks, my fave is a silny job from sea-to-summit, about £15. Also i buy small gymsacks that keep in trousers side or back pockets in case i buy something unexpectedly. I buy those from this guy in link below (yellow gymsack0:

Thanks again Simlez. Wont be filling it heavy metals just a few cycling bits and on other occasions waterproofs and food.

Thanks Simplez. Did you buy one of the bags from China and what is the build quality like? Thanks.

Yes from China. I got about 25 bags in my camping gear, and am a fan of Snugpak gear too.I would say the same workshops are knocking off the same bags, just stitching Snugpak logo on. The quality is good on mine. As it's small it will only fail & give way if you fill it with lead or gold, but so will the one with the stitched logo. For day hikes, if loaded heavy, most comfy as a backside hipbag.

Their sleeping bags & tactical jackets, some UK made, established their name:

Good which is rare these days but not as good as (British) PhD Designs or a few other American cottage gear makers which are best.

This is made in Chinese local workshops:

Mine turned up today. Amazing bit of kit. This is the tardis of portable baggage. Can't believe how much you can cram into it!! Thanks OP,

The xbox has no keychain supplied, so it will probably flop. Well done sony.
These things try to do too much, and generally don't do anything very well.
I see you've just edited it ;)
Maybe you should have added "Leatherman" to the title.
£30 at Amazon So even if you were trying to be witty with the deal, at face value it is still cold.

You can't really do that much with the 1:50k maps. They might be alright for bike riding, but I'd rather get 1:25k for a smaller area, then the whole UK for 1:50k.

I use the 1:50k maps fine, but always pack in the paper version of the 1:25k just in case.

Its nice to have £1400 worth of OS Maps in the palm of your hand (I have the Memory Map 3500 with all the 50 thou maps), but I would always have a paper map (compass and skills to use them) with me on the hill.

Pity this was not around years ago when I got the 3500. I like Garmin.

Whoah, there ! You post a deal where the GPS device + map is less than the price of an OS map, and I'll admit I'm a "pompous Luddite".

And when I meant read a map, I meant "read" - not just look at.

And when I said pompous, I meant "Characterized by excessive self-esteem or exaggerated dignity; pretentious". You know what I mean? The sort of person who thinks they're a bit superior to everyone else.

Clearly a smartphone option won't be for everyone as it's a little bit 21st century.

Entire country on Android for a couple of quid.

Maybe, but not much use when you're stuck on top of Skiddaw with no reception and a flat battery. For proper walkers a hard copy of a map is always preferable to a mobile version.

Always have GPS signal, cache the maps and manage battery consumption or carry a spare.

It's always easy to invent flaws. How much use the huge floppy map in rain n wind?

To suggest proper walkers don't use technology shows your ignorance. OS and others sell devices specifically for this purpose.

.....nah, the thing is , those of us that want maps, can really read a map. And, btw, they fold !!
OP posted a deal on how to get hold of OS maps cheaply, for those of us who want maps.
If anyone wants to post a deal on how to get android maps/gps cheaply, do so.

No need to post alternative as a deal becuase it is always cheaper and better so wouldn't be a deal.

If you want to be a pompous Luddite that's up to you but please don't suggest non paper users cant read a map.
