I've always wanted to read these. Is it something you have to read in order?
Or would this be OK to start with?

Hmm... I guess it's best to read them in order but the first issue of the Sandman comic I read was A Game Of You and I filled in the gaps later.

I think the first few story arcs can be read out of order maybe... from memory.

Voted hot... amazing comics.

you really need to be reading them in order to fully appreciate it although i'm sure you can work some of it out. there is no complete book ravenheart, that link just seemed to be an expensive book 1 for some reason. you could always but the softcovers to try it out, the collect smaller story arcs and are a lot cheaper.

The Waterstones site is awful. Doesn't provide descriptions of which volumes the Absolute Sandman's are. Nevertheless it's a hot deal.

Youre right. It looks like it's volume 3

I will amend the description ..

Looks like the price has changed to £42 now, luckily I already own it but at £42 it's still well worth it. The volumes are very well presented in a large format with silk bookmark and cardboard slipcase but you may want to read it at a table as they are quite heavy.

EDIT: Sorry I've just seen the attached 20% off voucher.

my boyfriend likes this!!
that's about as far as i can vouch for it though since i've not read it myself...

£70 for original RRP is steep!! i guess it's because it's hardback??

good reduction!

The Sandman, written by New York Times best-selling author Neil Gaiman, was the most acclaimed comic book title of the 1990s. A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman is also widely considered one of the most original and artistically ambitious series of the modern age. By the time it concluded in 1996, it had made significant contributions to the artistic maturity of comic books and become a pop culture phenomenon in its own right

The Sandman is an awesome series! Ive just had Vol 1 delivered yesterday, I found the cheapest for that was Forbidden Planet, thought it took an age to arrive. Im def going to get this later tonight! :-D

is it all the comics just bound together? Ages ago I read several first issues, and tbh, I fell in love, having the complete series would be great!

volume 4 is the best piece of comic writing ive ever read.

Basically all the comics have been put into 4 beatifull looking books. So Vol 1 contains issues 1-20. (1-18 have been re edited). There leather bound and awesome. If your a fan, or know someone who is a fan (who doesnt allready own the entire series, or even if they do) its a must have. :gift:
