How can it be used as Network Attached Storage without a network port?

Any idea on the NAS side of this, if it supports DLNA? Can't see anything in the manual, I wanted to use this as a media player in one room and also to stream to a DLNA TV in another. Also can't see anything about access, does it support FTP to get files onto it?

Ah, that explains everything! Trust me to look through the detailed specs rather than the picture!

The 'essential' is a strange beast though. I can understand the cold ratings personally.

I'm looking to get a new media plyer and was considering either the ac Ryan, wd live or the futeko himedia 600 a. Has anyone had experience with the himedia 600a player as I can't see much in the way of reviews for it. I'm after a player that will output dts master audio and tru HD to my HD amp, watch YouTube and play a wide range of files Inc backups of my blu ray discs.Any advice would be appreciated

I own the ac ryan mini and am not impressed, half the time i turn it on it cant see my network. The firmware updates have made this box worse than it originally was.It takes 7 button pushes to even get to the film library due to lack of shortcuts. I have also looked at the himedia 600. My Daughter has the ac ryan mini 2 and that is very slow, i would not now recommend ac ryan

The WDTV Live HD doesn't have shortcuts either, it really annoys me as it takes so long to get to the media on the network. If I could get XBMC running on it, now that would make it the ultimate media player :)

I am running xbmc now on a home built pc with ion gpu and the interface is superb, for me i want a unit to work. Every time i put the ac ryan on i have to p-ss about and it is a load of rubbish to be honest. I am looking for a good alternative myself but they all seem to have faults.
