Great card if you have a DSi or XL. Currently running the Akaio software on mine and everything runs.

These work on the original DS right?

Should work fine as the DS just sees it as any other game cart.

Excellent. Been looking at getting one of these for some time now.

Can't say if it's better, but unless it's changed in the last few weeks in order to use these on a 1.4 (DSi) then you need access to a DS with a previous version in order to update it. I didn't have access to one so went for the iEdge.

So far works perfectly, just download the os from the iEdge website, copy over and away you go. Seems very fast and everything works.

nice 1 op. just ordered 1 with a bigger sd card.

Does anyone know if this will work on a new DSi XL?

A new DSi XL with have V1.4 firmware. The Ackard will need updating using a 1.3 DS/DSi in order to work.

Thats why I went for the iEdge card, worked straight away on 2 DSi's no problems so far.

Heat and rep added - thanks goen for it - have been looking and as usual hotukdeals is the place where its happening :))

What is the best card for the dsi xl? I remember when i bought the original R4 DS for my DS Lite there was a handful of game carts out. But now theres so many you just don't know which to go for, unless someone you know recommends one that they are using.
#16
What brand sd micro do they provide with the acekard?

Same question for the DS - the site lists a number of cards - their 'help' screen only mentions the R4 cards as recommended.

Absolutely typical, been waiting for one of these to show up here for ages, so ordered one this afternoon for £15 without a memory card!

Not bothered what you say but voted cold for piracy.

Just like I'd vote cold someone posting about their mate selling knock-off fags/films/CDs/Games etc.

It's not a 'hot deal' if you know someone who works in an industry effected by piracy.

doesn't flashing the acekard to work on 1.4 dsi require a dsi that 1.3 below or a ds lite?

There are some people who hate switching carts every now and again like myself. Then again there the majority of people who pirate so yeah I voting cold is a valid reason :S.

It's not abuot piracy you muppet although they obviously do allow that, it's possible to want one to do other things than play pirated games - don't make assumptions i'd like to vote you cold

They obviously do allow that? It's what they're made for.. It's naive to say I'm making an assumption that people use them for piracy when DS piracy is so rampant.

I'm not saying all people use them for piracy; but the vast majority do :whistling:

It seems frivolous but piracy doesn't only harm the games industry and it's workers. It could also lead major companies like Sony, Nintendo and film studios to put put more pressure on ISPs to monitor content usage and lead to shutdown of many file sharing sites. Ultimately affecting us, the consumer.

Not to mention the fact that lack of sales affect quality of games.. look how piracy arguably affected the PSP

How do you flash the card?

There's a guide http://gbatemp.net/t218103-updated-n00b-guide-to-setting-up-your-acekard

Good deal, best budget card imho
#30
Good card. Bit of a mission to get it working with the latest dsi firmware, but it's still the best card I've used.

My brother got hold of a flashcart for the homebrew and so he wouldn't have to decide which of his 20+ original games he'd have to carry around with him and the worst that would happen if he lost it would be losing his progress since the last time he backed up his saves and having to spend £20 on a new R4 and memory card.

A lot of people (probably the majority, in fact) would use one of these for piracy but the device itself doesn't really care what you put on it; you might as well vote a pack of 100xDVD-R cold because it's highly likely they'll be used for burning copies of films. If we were talking about a site selling knock-off DS carts then I'd definitely be in agreement though.
#32
This site gets worse. Perhaps all hard drives, memory cards, deals on burning software and pcs should be voted cold as well because they enable piracy? This is a commodity, the heat should be indicative of the cost of that commodity compard to its typical price. This is on par with 'voted cold because its not available online' as the worst thing I've read on here for some time. If hot deals are being distorted because of opinions like this we may as well shut hukd down.

My litle boy has a R4 card in his ds and been working fine - suddenly it doesn't recognise it yet if I put it in mine it sees it just fine? It plays original games just fine - any ideas guys?
#34
Try asking in an r4 forum? Here's not the place!
#35
Blast! , Code seems to have expired. I bought 2 of these a month or so back for daughters and they have been excellent.
