Not necessarily true, the clearance store at Merry Hill is the same as this, they can also be ex-display/box opened or as in some cases newly boxed items I have had.

You obviously have to be vigilant with what you buy from these stores, but there are some great bargains to be had.

I noticed today that this store is having an auction at 2pm tomorrow so there may be bargains to be had.

Yes, but as I said from past experience (have bought lots) it all depends, I bought a brand new boxed/sealed/unopened Marantz AV Receiver that had to go through the till on clearance as "Non-pristine" even though it was clearly pristine....it all depends on the stock there..some items are ex-display...some box opened, some customer returns, others mint.....even if the display cards state otherwise..just use your own vigilance.

PC World in financial trouble? All the big PC shops in Spain bear an uncanny resemblance to PC World. I thought they are/were going multinational with their Dixons Group.

DSG are closing all their stores in Spain. They are not in financial trouble, just retrenching as their share price is shot due to the increasing numbers of people buying off the net and not in store! As far as Spain is concerned they are best out of it, as their economy is in a worse shape than ours and that is saying something!

From what I remember I believe there's still a PC World on the retail park in Chester? As well as a Currys - same company - and when I asked instore at the Electrical Clearance place, I was told they're also part of the DSG(?) group and they use these Clearance stores to shift end-of-line stock. Found some great bargains in there, including a mouse which was also on end-of-line clearance in Currys but still cheaper at the ECS. Impressed with the place, there are some great deals if you know what you're looking for. Like the new 2gb MP3 player I picked up for a friend...under £3!

In post #2, that POS material is clearly DSGi/PC World as well, I've seen similar to that running in those stores before.

PC World also have another outlet called TechFurb (same font as 'Currys') and they have great bargains too.

In this current day and age, I very rarely if ever buy 'brand new' items, I'm always on the lookout for a hugely-discounted slightly-used or refurb bargains - why pay more for an item you're only going to use anyway, might as well let someone else depreciate it for you first! I know, there's a time and place for brand new items, but if it's my personal equipment I don't have a problem.

why pay less for an item you're not going to use anyway? Because you saw it here first :D

It is located in the top open air retail park the one adjacent to Best Buy, where Comet, Currys Megastore etc are, in fact it is next door to Currys Megastore there, it used to be the old PC World premises.
