You're gonna get *slated* for the thread title lol ;-)
#2
Possibly! Would like to know what people think of it, have reserved one but there's so much choice out there. Any comments appreciated

Note that not all 4 cores wil be used all the time. One review of the CPU says

"The final verdict is – if you normally work on just one thing at a time ( or if you run a process that does not require more than one core at a time), this processor is not well suited for you. You may be better off with the core i3 based processors from intel. However, if you run multiple processes and threads you may benefit by the 4 cores in the Phenom ii N930"

For the vast majority of tasks you will find the i3-370 to be better than the Phenom II X4 N930.
As you can get the emachines i3-370 for £288 from sainsburys atm I think it's a bit of a no-brainer which to go for.

Granted, graphics-wise this machine's Radeon 4250 will outperform the integrated Intel GMA HD in the i3-370, but not by enough to make either a viable games machine.

As for power consumption, the i3-370 wins hands-down - though I don't know if the battery capacities of these two machines are the same.

Cold from me i'm afraid.

quad core is overkill unless your using this to replace a desktop?

if not buy a i3 or even a older dual core and save some cash.

Voting cold for a title rather than the deal? Hmm, hotuktitles.com might be the solution!

This will get hot if you change the title to... "Acer 15.6" laptop,AMD Phenom II X4 quad core N930 CPU, 3GB DDR3 RAM, 320GB HDD, ATI Radeon HD 4250 Graphics, HDMI, Webcam ect. @Argos"
Please do the title change it bothers me!
P.S. I added to your description.

Didn't realise the title was such a massive issue!

Thanks for the comments though

Voted cold due to the worst title in history.

I appreciate its succinctness. If you added AMD and the price it would get my compact deal title of the day award; a very sought after thing. X)

Tee hee! I'm quite new to all this. Appreciate that my title needed more info. It's too lengthy now. Anyway, shoudl I get this laptop, or should I go for the MSi one that is 300 quid on argos? I am a light gamer, mainly just intent use. Thanks

Well your processor is alot better but probably uses lots of power and reduces the battery life. The MSI is a great budget laptop with alot to give and is pretty well equiped... I'd go msi for saving the £100.

I've given this some heat purely because you could have taken so much offence to some of the comments on here. You're an incredibly polite HUKD-er!!

I like that! Would love this deal to go hot, don't care if it's just down to me being polite. Too many people take offence too easily. Just relax I say.

Thanks for the comments Neiliboy:D

No problem; I'm reasonably new to HUKD myself.

I've tried to erase it from my memory, but I'm pretty sure it was "Quad core laptop Argos". Perhaps not the finest bit of literature that this site has ever seen!

I wouldn't of voted because i'm not a fan of Acer but for a Quad core this price is excellent :D

Why? The only real difference is a slower processor, brand and looks.

oh i thought it might be something arrogant like "Hottest Laptop Deal Ever" or something sexy like "The Linda Lusardi of Laptops". I know many Hukers dony like arrogance, nor sexiness.

As for the deal, it's ok, I personally wouldn't use #AMD but that's personal preference.

The deal is fine
Your pathetic reasoning...hmm not so much
Kids these days tsk

Too many deals around from argos as they got a laptop for 299.99 with blu ray now which one is better value for money I suppose it depends on what u need

The sony processor is a lot less speedy. I think this is a good deal. The X4 proccessor is quite expensive and it's a great chip for multi tasking.

Voting hot.

Almost got this mixed up with a 5333G

The 5333G appears to have switchable Graphics between a 5470 and a the 4250 which as I presume the 5333 only has the 4250 gpu

Always find it very confusing when they release lots variations with similar model numbers.

You weren't here when it didn't have the shop or price listed even.

It's not the end of the world though, is it? I've taken your point on board, and moved on. Cheers

Ah yes, a deal site without the prices or location of items, that works well.....It would be the "end of the world" for the site if they were all like this.

This has really got to you hasn't it??

Brilliant.

It wasn't actually that exciting! I just kept it short and sweet along the lines of "Quad core laptop at Argos". Surprised with the fuss it caused. Am grateful for the people who provided me with heat and advice as to what the title should have looked like. Still think it's a good deal, just torn between this one and the MSi one at Argos for £299. I know I posted this one, but for my needs and after having some good advice on this forum, I may go for the MSi one as I don't really need the quad core power

Well what will you use the laptop for? Both are more than adequate laptops and will offer good performance in everyday use such as web browsing, work videos ect.
This one will be a powerful multitasking machine but will probably have a lower battery life, and get a bit hotter meaning it will be for of a desktop laptop rather than a portable one. Obviously the extra processor power will be useful but only if you use really demanding applications regularly would I recommend you spending the extra money :) Hope this helps!
