Cold because it's yet another Play.com pre-order, that will either be cancelled, or never be in stock, or price changed. :whistling: :giggle:

Also for £299 you can get a 32inch LCD TV with VGA, or use DVI to HDMI cable http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/129151

Voted hot becasue of the price and spec. Every other 24" on the market costs >£100 more than this. Sure, TN panels offer reduced viewing angles (approx 160 vs 170 degrees) and reduced colour accuracy (16.1M vs 16.7M) but most people will not notice the difference when sitting in front of one.

I have a 22" TN film panel and find it good to work with.

Well yes play have done this before like on the LG 22" but well it doesn't mean to say the Acer is a misprice and will be cancelled too! Also it didn't stop others from voting the LG a hot deal.

Your comparison to the TV on ebuyer is ridiculous! You are comparing sausages to eggs! It's hardly practical to have a 32" TV on your desk as a PC monitor, not to mention it only has a resolution of 1366x768 (vs. 1920 x 1200 on a 24" monitor). *sigh*

Voted hot, I completely agree comparing a 32" tv to a hi-res 24" monitor is just plain foolish

why is it? They both perform the same function?

Are you going to buy a 32" LCD TV, like a monitor and with your face right up close?

Plus this monitor run at a native resolution of 1080p, compared to a bog standard 32" LCD TV running at a native resolution of 1366x768.

Nice one have now got this and the 22" lg monitor in my outstanding orders. They are both up for release on the same day 06 august. Let's see which one gets pushed back first. Just as a side note ebuyer have the acer on their site for £240 and the analogue version for £374. No stock in of the former though and there wasn't any when it first appeared three days ago otherwise I would of posted it then.

This is the best deal so far.. but.. this monitor is Only £ 230 in the US!. Grrhhh... why do we always get ripped off in the UK??? Damn VAT! Damn Custom tax! We make less money, higher tax, (a lot higher tax) ... well.. unless you own a private equity firm :) ..

can this monitor really do 1920x1200 at 75hz? I thought LCD's normally only did 60hz at their native resolution?
#13
The delivery at Play has now gone out to 20/08:x Plus these monitors are being listed cheaper at other sites such as Ebuyer. The price listed is irrelevant anyway because no one actually has any in stock.
I cancelled my pre-order at Play anyway
