hot from me, good spec and its a nice looking acer for once!
#2
I was thinking about buying an Acer until reading previous threads about there very poor batteru life. It may say upto 3 hours, but the usual life was a little over 1. Not very good for a 'mobile' PC.

I am holding back until they improve!

this to me is far better at £319. The HD3200 is about the same as the Geforce 8400
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/280675/hp-6735s-notebook-15-4-ql-62-cpu-12.

Plus the CPU has the lowest TDP of any Puma Turion X2 from AMD at 25 watts. 3 hours thus may mean 3 hours with the HP

Similar to this but this http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/276872/hp-g60-114ea-notebook-pc-3gb-15-4-d costs less and is HP 668 degrees hot and still available.

Think spec for spec the acer is better having 2mb cache and faster cpu.:santa:

all are actually good deals.
A few have HDMI which will sway it for some.

The ebuyer HP 6735S at £400 has a good spec and Vista Premium. Whilst the ebuyer HP 6735S at £319 has the far superior QL-62 CPU (speed and an impressive 25 watts TDP.
Both are the only ones that are games capable so think of them as 'triple core'.

The Intel GMA 4500 HP models have HDMI so that is a good bonus. Toshiba has the best reputation whilst Acer the lowest. So overall with the other great deals this one is very so so.

thanks for that..

which cpu is better

Technology: Intel Centrino processor technology featuring Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5800

or

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor for Notebook PCs QL-62
2.0-GHz

Intel CPU no doubt much better. Not by miles though.

AMD wins it for the highest performance graphics.
No point in having a fast CPU with Intel graphics if you play a few games.
#13
well i was thinking, with the toshiba one

it comes with ProcessorType Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5800 2ghz speed

4gb ram

intel GM45 Express chipset with hdmi?

would this be good enough to run mkv movies on a 42" plasma if i hooked it up via the hdmi?

because thats the only real reason it would be worth me getting it over the cheaper £319 hp one
just to add i wont use the laptop to game, i have an xbox360 for gaming
thanks

All chipsets now seem to have HDMI. However the laptop manufacturer has to fit the socket so make sure it is there in writing.

Some leave it out just to differentiate between a budget and a superior(rip-off) model.

I don't quite understand how the HP G60-114EA got to 668 but at least it does have HDMI and it says £335 with quidco. Or maybe HDMI was the 668 clincher for some?

Very good value at £335. Slower CPU but not dramatic.
#15
yea, decisions decisions
#16
ah

just noticed the staples is excluding vat, so not such a good deal as i thought..

i think i will go with the 319 one
#17
Unless it is AMD promoting it don't expect it to be there Monday.

HP tend to pull their offers quite fast. Not certain on this one as AMD are getting needy.
#18
i went for the 319 in the end

thanks for the help
