I can vouch that this is a superb Monitor...

Dvd's are a dream and Games are a cinematic experience...

Excellent monitor - Got one. Paid £138-ish 6 months ago for one of these.

Can't fault it.

Yep - I paid about £180 for this a couple of years ago and that was a good deal. This is ridiculously good. Well done - great find.

Take care of resolution however. Will only work best with 1440 x 900 (I think, from memory), that some graphics cards will have problems with. Do some research first!

Same as the people above, I paid c£150 for a AL1916W about 6 months ago. The lack of DVI has not impacted me at all, it is just nice having so much space on my desktop.

Do check your GFX card supports the resolution though

good price
19'' widescreens are v small ...

bit dodgy about the gfx cards possibly not supporting it, I havnt chosen my gfx card for my new build yet.

I was going to get an acer 17" to match the one I already have to dual screen, does anyone know from personal experience what the acer 17" (same colour scheme and design) would look like next to this 19" wide?

Hi can anyone tell me will I be able to connect the Wii and gamecube to this in order to play games on the monitor, please forgive my lack of knowledge.
#11
If the Wii and Gamecube have VGA cable support you'll be able to hook it up, although dont know if they do.

I use the AL1916WS with the xbox 360 and it's amazing, the AL1917 is the same just with a faster response time and built in speakers. I want one. :x

My first post so please be gentle. I currently have 17" MAG TFT with Max Resolution 1280 x 1024. It has 15-Pin mini-D Type Male connector which, I think, is blue.

My graphics card is;

GeForce 6200 TurboCache[TM]
Video BIOS Version: 5.44.02.24
IRQ: 16
Bus: PCI Express x 16
Memory: 256 MB
ForceWare version: 71.89
TV Encoder Type: NVIDIA Integrated.

I right click on desktop and under properties 'Screen Resolution'
I have the following options.

(Less to More)
800 by 600 pixels
1024 x 768
1152 x 864
1280 x 1024
1600 x 1024
1600 x 1200
1920 x 1080
1920 x 1200
1920 x 1440
2048 x 1536

Given the monitor on deal has '1440 x 900' which I can't see under properties.

I'd like to buy this monitor @ £99 it must be hot but Please can someone confirm if this Acer monitor is compatible with my system, in terms of, hardware connection & graphic cards.

Many thanks

When you plug it in, you should get 1440x900 added to the list. If it doesn't appear, there are ways to get it so it is on the list too.

Both DABS & Misco claim this monitor to have a response time of 8ms. 5ms may be a mistake :)
