Your link seems to point to the enlarged picture, not a monitor to compare it to.

OOops sorry, was the wrong thing on my clipboard. I'll fix it now :)

stonking find Emma. Well done, just ordered one.

Respect given.
#6
meant to say dont forget the 2% quidco as well.

Doesnt make much of a difference but every little counts.
#7
The Belinea has is only 1400x1050. The Acer model offers 280 extra pixels which can make a lot of difference.
#8
Thanks for the post. Been looking for one of these ...

Can't decide if the 20.1" without the DVI but better screen resolution is better than a 19" widescreen with DVI and a saving of £35 ...

Hmm.
#9
When I changed over to DVI, I didn't notice any difference in the quality of the images on the screen, I think it's more a thing about future proofing your monitor...
#10
i agree, for this resolution i dont think dvi will make much of a difference if any.
#11
Very nice find :) Thanks Emma ;-) Good price for 20.1" TFT!

I've just had a right nightmare trying to return a Digimate 19" monitor to Play.com, it had a dead pixel just in the middle.
I finally told them I'd be contacting my Credit Card Provider if they did not accept the return, it was within 7 days so the DSR still applied.
It's going today back:)

Anyway, be careful and stand your ground if you have any probs with this Monitor.

edit:-
Sorry, if I sort of hijacked the thread.

Great price Emma and a quality named Monitor as well.

cheers for the advice dino. Hope its ok and doesnt get to the unfortunate stage you have found yourself at.

I highly recommend the Samsung 205BW on Amazon for £199 delivered. It does have DVI and the quality is fantastic.

20" WS btw.
#15
Whats all this DVI about?
#16
DVI is a digital connection.

So instead of the digital signal being converted to RGB signals and sent over an analogue link where it degrades you get a perfect ghost free image with DVI. I would thoroughly recommend a DVI connection.
#17
DVI is a bit :meh:
#18
This is really good for a 20.1" Widescreen, brand name + 3 years garantee. Not long ago, a 20"+ would cost over £200.

Well done emma, nice find.
#19
Just make sure your graphics card has a DVI port to make use of a DVI monitor. A DVI monitor should be backwards compatible with VGA though if you're graphics card is VGA (and vice versa) if you're upgrading one at a time.

Some info on Graphic Outputs (Toms Hardware) if anyone is interested.

What about these Hanspree Monitors 19" normal or widescreen, £112 or £115 plus £8.50 p&p. Are they any good? They have 5ms refresh and DVI.

Well, I would recommend the 19" version of my previous recommendation :)

I'd pay £20 for the brand alone and the fact morecomputers will swap ur monitor out if it has a dead pixel.

Just wanted to jump in here... The sammy 205BW is a much superior screen. Considering its 30 quid more you're getting a fair bit more for your money... HDCP, DVI... etc

Emma, I think i love you! What a find!

I love Acer... great monitors (Laptops are exceptional graphical quality). How could you even compare it to the samsung.... the resolution of the acer whips the ass off the samsung!

Hmmmmm.... now i have to to decide do i buy the monitor or a ring for emma ;)

And in the darkness steal their credit card numbers and head for the shops

would this be near enough perfect for the 360? love the screen size and price but 8ms and 600:1-would that cut it?

The pixels could be abit of a downer mate as the 360 doesnt support it, im currently looking for a good widescreen monitor atm for my 360 also so i am also in your situation as i realy dont have enough money for a hdtv at this present time.

ordered one, thank you for the post!!

mine arrived today, ordered yesterday. First impressions are really good.

I've not tested it with any games as its for my kitchen to watch tv on through slingbox and to browse tinternet whilst cooking.

Seems well built. My only gripe is that the vesa mount didnt have any screws so i had to rummage about to find some as its gone on the wall.

The base is pretty easy to remove.

Overall for the money i'll give it 9.5 out of 10
