I can’t find this monitor on the Maplin site! Do you have a direct link?
Excellent price for a medium quality screen of such dimensions.

Looks like they have pulled it because it now says discontinued. The Maplin code for it is A57HJ

Try this link:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=221739&C=newsletter&U=07P11-2_A57HJ&T=12078967

I got this offer by e-mail from them today so either they have sold out or something strange going on here. I don't think they mispriced it because it was the featured item on the e-mail

Seems like a bargain, half the price of Amazon... Thinking about getting one myself. Gets a fairly good review here:

Its back up now

This model uses:
[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1]26"WS LG.Philips S-IPS (LM260WU1-SLB1

Which impressive, LG-Philips S-IPS TFT LCD panel competing on cheaper/not as good TN Panel prices.

Review here:
http://www.trustedreviews.com/displays/review/2007/04/23/Acer-AL2623W-26in-Widescreen-LCD/p1

Looks like it'll work with HDMI devices like SkyHD/V+/HD-DVD-BluRay players etc, might need a DVI to HDMI converter at the back mind.

£267 with the voucher and Quidco is an excellent deal. Hot.

Sure it's not as good as the BenQ 24" but that's about £170 more.
#8
I think it is the best value for money monitor deal at the moment. It may not be as sharp as the Dell 24" screens that everybody seems to want but it sure is a great price.
#9
Anyone bought this? I am very, very tempted!!
#10
Yep, just bought one using the voucher! Better grab one while its in stock - there's only 33 left!

Excellent value for a 26" monitor it might not be as great as the 24" BenQ one, but for this price and the extra 2", I'm not at all bothered!

Personally this is deal of the year for me, as I need a new monitor and was about to buy a 22" for £215 before I saw this!

Repped and heated!

I couldn’t possibly comment in case the wife is monitoring. :w00t:

Mega-Deal. Ideal to replace my ageing 22'' CRT. Heat added.
Thanks silps.
27 Remaining.
#13
Wow, I want two of these to replace my current 17" dual screen setup [drool] :)
banned#14
Tempted to buy one but the AL models are their budget series and the 24" AL2416 was pretty poop.
#15
Just ordered one myself. Seemed too good a deal to pass up when I was about to go for a 22". You'll probably find me selling this behemoth on here in a few weeks when the wife sees it swamping my desk and makes me get rid of it!
#16
What sort of price are we looking at for 24" monitors? I've been on the verge of purchsing a 22" as the prices are phenominal at around £150, but a 24" or 26" does sound appealing! :)

Having a look on the acer website, this monitor is actually 25.5" - surprised its not 26" as their value line 26" monitor appears to be 26.0"...
Still, I suppose not much difference between the two, but would have been nice for them to list it in the specs.
Only 3 left now!
#18
I'm just going through the threads.. where even the nos. left are stated..:)...and i checked it yesterday.. the maplin site was stating this monitor as discontinued.. If possible.. please give the phone number.. so i can at-least call them and reserve one..:).. thx

Have just had confirmation that my monitor has been shipped! Can't wait to receive it - will give a little minireview once I have it.
Wizardprice.com ( http://www.wizardprice.com/products/ET.L810C.002.AC ) still have the monitor for £300, but currently stock is taking 28days for del. However, 5 were in stock yesterday (all gone now) despite wizardprice telling me last week they weren't expecting any for 2 months, so keep checking the site if you want one of these monitors!

Hi,

I ordered a couple of hard drives from WizardPrice which were listed on this forum. They must have been mispriced but when I ordered they were in stock and they charged my credit card. I got an e-mail saying they were out of stock and will come back into stock in a couple of weeks. It was only after I chased them weeks later to find out what was happening that they said they made a mistake. Then I had to wait for them to refund my credit card.

I think they are just box shifters and I would never shop with them again.

Thanks for that ! I was worried they would just keep my cash for over a month then say it's out of stock then have to go through the pain of getting my cash back.

Saved me the hassle ! Cheers Slips !

Yep, I was thinking the same thing last week when I checked wizrdprice, which is why I emailed them. However, despite them saying they would have no stock for 2 months, 5 appeared in stock when I checked a few days later! If you want one of these monitors, would probably be a good idea to check back on the site every few days!

Have just checked the tracking for my AL2623w, and its on the delivery van - exciting!

All I can say, is WOW.

This monitor is awesome - if you can get one from wizardprice if it comes into stock again, get one. Monitor just arrived today and have been using it for a few hours now.

First thing, its huge - which is obviously great for a monitor. I can use the "gridvista" software to arrange the monitor into four spaces, in each of which I can hold a window, allowing excellent use of the enormous desktop space I now have.
No dead pixels, and the S-IPS panel (yes, not PVA - I have done a little research and this monitor definately uses the best type of TFT panel available!) is just simply fantastic. Colours are excellent, much better than the Sony Vaio laptop's glossy screen (which already is an excellent screen).

Viewing angle is truely 178 degrees as quoted. Best £265 I've ever spent. I remember when I paid £300 for a dell 17" monitor (also S-IPS panel) just 4 years ago. This is about twice the screen size!

Only one fault is that blacks are not as black as on my sony vaio screen, which uses sony's x-black technology (which is why its glossy). However, for the price I am over the moon with this monitor - even at £300 which Wizardprice are asking for, this is an absolute bargin! I honestly can't recommend this monitor enough! Fantastic buy - thanks OP!
