Any techies out there with comments appreciated.

the graphics are underwhelmnig on that card, but given that price includes a windows license, I'm inclined to vote hot.

There's better computers to be had for that money, but not if you want windows included in the price. (Say, you have a friend at uni who can get you one of the student deals for £40 or whatever it is just now)

I think that the graphics card is 256mb.

they're pretty vague about the monitor I notice - i.e. no spec whatsoever.

integrated graphics.
Better to use cclcomputers or other builder to make the computer you want to exact specifications. It will cost the same. There is no discount on this Acer given the true cost of parts so it is not a deal.

Isn't the cheapest custom build on ccl at the moment over £70? That's just the build. Given that this includes a monitor and Windows I think it would be quite a challenge to build similar on ccl for this price.

Tried it. Cant see how it can be done. You do realise this deal includes a 20" tft? Not even selectable on link you gave. It would be a lot more helpful if you posted your comparative build and price rather than glibly suggesting a different supplier.

take your pick all 3 are better, admittedly they cost £20 more but are better and they list the components

for the base unit it is £20 more with faster processor and motherboard. I'm not helping you shop for the same pc or even trying. I am suggesting that custom PC builds are much better in general and the RRP £679.00 of this deal was nonsence

Make your mind up. On your original pot you said a custom from ccl of the same spec "will cost the same". Cleary rubbish and unhelpful. I suggest you research more fully in future or you will look foolish again.

The same spec would cost the same but as they don't stock the old tech that is in the Acer you can't 'spec up' an identical PC. He also never stated that you could build one the same spec, but stated to your specifications.

You clearly no nothing about PC's as you have shown in this thread and others. This 'self build' option would have much better and much more reliable components in them and probably a hell of a lot better after sales care.

The only one being unhelpful and talking rubbish is you.....but what would i know, i am just a Dell fanboy :p
