Ooh, that seems good, and it's not ugly like most cheap ones!
Does anyone have any experience with it?

its a good spec for the money - dell one was better but that has gone now - not sure if there is much better for the money

I have an Acer 5630 with a lesser spec and am very pleased with it.
#7
Looks good, voted hot.
#8
How long they take for free delivery?
#9
Pretty good value, nice find
#10
Is the graphics up to much being shared?
#11
No onboard graphics solution is up to serious gaming but still a good spec for the price. :)
#12
That does look like a good spec for the price - the only other laptop I can see which is slightly better is the Advent 9515 at Pc World for £299.99 which has a 160Gb Hard Disk but that is a refurbished model and has the AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 processor which might not be as good as this Intel one.

Voted hot, very nice find, thanks

Mmm... tempting... would the graphics be up to editing large RAW photos in Photoshop?
#15
daughter has had it 1 year - loves it

I have this model with win xp media center and have recently upgraded to a sony sz61wn/c. Mine came with 512 MB Ram and i upgraded to 2GB, other spec being the same. I was quite pleased with it and will be up for sale on ebay soon.

i had no problems with cannon raw images under lightroom so blv should be up for it.

looks good but it doesnt seem to have any real form of output to link to tv etc. no vga, svid or hdmi, still for 3 ton, not a bad deal at all!
#19
no instore pick up?
#20
None available in store or online, seems a bit of a con, otherwise hot deal.
#21
yes was a nice deal but tried several post codes around the country and doesn't seem to be in :( Too good to be true perhaps
#22
How does this compare to the Toshiba posted a couple of days ago for 295??
#23
i have got mine for sale if someone wants it, its the same spec with a Card Reader, Webcam and S-Video and VGA out, it has the Windows XP media center edition and not vista
not a single scratch or mark on the unit and mostly ve been used on a desktop with external keyboard and mouse and hence little use of keyboard and touchpad
#24
How much then?

I have an Acer Aspire 5630. Has practically the same spec, and has a 1.3 MegaPixel webcam attached also.

Had nothing but trouble with it.
Had to send it off 3 times now for repair to the Acer tech department.

1st....Hinge of laptop broke away completely and wasnt attached to the base apart from a small bit on the other hinge, which also snapped the webcam wire, and also my battery was lasting 15 minutes max however they fixed everything but the battery. Also, screen was broken, with any white things appearing as light blue constantly.

2nd...Damaged and lost some keyboard keys, mouse buttons had become really sensitive, and the media keys didnt work at all. Battery was now down to 5 minutes maximum, and I even mentioned this to the person when I phoned up, saying how I complained about this before when I sent it in for repair and they said theyd sort it out.

This was only last Tuesday...I got it back on Friday, and by Monday, it had broke again so I sent it back in for repair yesterday (Wednesday)

3rd...Wont turn on at all, just had a power light and the fan started for 3-4 seconds before stopping and getting nothing at all from the screen if pressing anything etc. Before it broke, the webcam drivers were all removed rendering it useless, aswell as the battery still being around 4 minutes max life.

As always have done, included a cover sheet detailing the problems so I will see how it is when its returned to me
