I only ask as my mother has an acer, and that might be a problem for me, as i cant stand it. I guess you could unistall the drivers perhaps. Like your feed back, as the housing on my perfect fine laptop has died, and it doesnt make sense to pay £50+labour and delivery etc.

That's a small software attached to Synaptics called Scrybe, if you don't like it, you can uninstall it in Control panel under Programs.
