Acer Aspire 521 HDMI Netbook £189.99 @ Currys delivered, or £199.99 reserve and collect at PC World
Just spotted this online. Seems a good price for a netbook with HDMI port? Thinking of trading in my clunky old laptop and getting another £50 off making £149.99. Instore price is £219.99 so need to reserve and collect for £199.99. Despite the website description below, it DOES have a webcam - i've just called them to check.
Alternatively, this is available for home delivery at Currys for £189.99 using the code 10POUND (£10 off £199 spend) before midnight tonight. I've just done a dummy order to test the code and it works.
Was £299.99 (16/09/10 - 30/09/10) The Acer Aspire One 521 netbook has the power-sipping AMD V-series V105 Processor and comes with Microsoft's Genuine Windows® 7 Starter operating system pre-installed. A useful 160GB hard drive provides plenty of on-the-move storage space, whilst the 1GB of installed DDR3 RAM ensures that everyday applications can run smoothly.
Stylishly finished in black, the Acer Aspire One 521 netbook is built around a 10.1" LCD screen, with low-energy LED backlighting contributing towards a great battery life of up to six hours. This slim and lightweight machine can be used comfortably over extended periods, with a near full-sized keyboard making lengthy typing sessions an effortless experience.
Connectivity in the Acer Aspire One 521 also impresses, with the inclusion of WiFi technology, an HDMI port for hooking up to an external display, a 5-in-1 media card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, an RJ-45 Ethernet port, and more.
Enjoy a fun and reliable computing experience on the move without feeling weighed down, by choosing this good-looking Acer Aspire One 521 netbook!

This review is for a different processor. I doubt you get the same result on this slow V105 and with only 1gb ram. You would need to upgrade.
Limit of one trade in per new laptop purchased. Trade in unit must be a laptop and must have one of the following processors: Intel® Celeron™, Intel® Pentium™ 4, Intel® Pentium™ M, Intel® Pentium™ dual core, Intel® Core™ 2 Solo, Intel® Core™ 2 Duo, Intel® Core™ 2 Quad, Intel® Centrino™, Intel® Extreme Edition, Intel® Core™ i3, Intel® Core™ i5, Intel® Core™ i7, AMD Sempron™, AMD Athlon™ X2, AMD Turion™ X2. It must also have an optical drive (e.g. CD/DVD), power up and log into an OS, include the correct power supply and battery, not be locked by a password and not have any significant cosmetic damage, i.e. the keyboard and screen must be undamaged and the casing and hinges intact.
so doesnt quite seem worth it considering that you will probably get as much if not more on ebay. might help some people but £50 for a laptop with those processors may not be a good deal for many

Thanks OP
I've just downloaded a couple of full 1080p trailers, and i'd rate playback with Windows Media player as 9/10. Very smooth on all but the fastest moving scenes where there is a really minimal amount of jerkiness that you have to look really closely to see.
The webcam is also quite good at 1.3megapixels. Battery life is showing approx 5hrs30 minutes at full charge.
I like the fact that the battery doesn't stick out of the back like some netbooks. I am not too keen on the trackpad buttons but theyll do for the price. Speakers are, comparitively speaking, surprisingly good given how slim this netbook is.
I'm very happy with this laptop for £150, but i think it would still be a good buy for £200. Use code 10POUND at Currys for £10 off until 23:59 tonight. It works- i've just checked it.
