Works out at £197.59 delivered after the 3% Quidco, and although the memory in it is only 512mb, it can easily be upgraded to 2GB for a further £14.99, delivered from Play.com.

An ideal budget laptop for school kids etc, IMO.

It's the cheapest new (i.e not "refurbished") Celeron laptop I've ever seen. Acer don't have the best reputation but, there again, nor do they have the worst. A real Windows fully-equipped laptop with a 12 month warranty for £200 is a great bargain! Could well be sold out by now - BargainCrazy's £250 C2D sold out in about an hour of appearing on here yesterday.

What more do you need to know?

I upgraded my son's Acer Aspire 5315 (which is almost identical to the one in this deal) from 1GB to 2GB yesterday.

I bought my memory from Crucial Memory (as someone I know highly recommends them) and it cost me approx £22 after Quidco).

Before the upgrade though, my son was playing games like World Of Warcraft online on his Aspire 5315 laptop with no problems.

Just ordered for my 12 year old daughter for surfing.

Thanks Thommo. Can't fault it for £200. I'll probably upgrade the RAM but that's all.

Nice one!

Thanks op I managed to bag one of these earlier. Anyone know if this cpu will fit in it and if so is it worth putting it in as I have one spare from a smashed laptop...

Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 Mobile 2.0GHz 667MHz OEM CPU 2MB Cache Socket P FCPGA6

It also says 2 gig max ram on some websites, is this also deffo the case as it seems low for a vista laptop.

Can anyone advise me on RAM upgrade for this as well?

Is this what I need: PNY PC5300 / 2GB / 667MHz / DDR2 / 200pin SoDIMM Laptop Memory

Or would it be this: PNY PC5300 / 2GB (2x1GB) / 667MHz / DDR2 / 200pin SoDIMM / Laptop Memory?

Whats the max this can take? Any help is appreciated...

Either will do the trick. It takes a max of 2gb so not sure if it is best to use 2 x 1 gig and use both slots or the 2 gig in one slot.

I've not heard of PNY memory before, thats why I went with Crucial Memory.

When you go on their website, it actually lets you pick out the Acer Aspire 5310, and shows you the memory you should put in it.

I'm personally going for 2 x 1GB for my other halfs laptop.

Just received my Acer aspire laptop this morning and it was well packaged, in pristine condition with all accessories and soft ware installed. Excellent value for money and ideal for a first laptop for a 14yr old girl.

Mine has aarrived also. It is new but both seals were broken on the boxes but it appears to be unused so not a problem. It has 2 gig of ram in it now which improoves it somewhat but still not a flying machine but for less than 200 quid its a baragin!
