Wonder how much RAM it has...

Could be good for someone who needs something VERY VERY BASIC.

Spec appears to be poor, i wouldn't be surprised if it's 1GB RAM

Well I can see your point but it's 30% more expensive. If your just going to use it for netting then the upgraded parts aren't so important. Better screen res is a little misleading as most people would benefit more from the 800 pixel vertical resolution on the Acer. Oh and the Acer is new unlike the MSI which is a refurb.
So would vote hot, but it wont let me!

Just the usual on here people voting deals cold without coming up with a better price ..

Price isn't everything. I am voting cold because this model is one of the worst laptops ever made. Noisy, slow, over-heating problems, will not run other OS (if you think of installing Windows 7, forget it). I say all this because I had this laptop from new. Get Asus or MSI for another £60, that would be my advice.

...but which is better?

649 available and 11 sold sums it all up as at 18:43.
#15
slow machine and quite large
#16
What's with everyone? This is a BRAND NEW laptop for the price of a crappy netbook. It may not suit the high end taste, but as a teen or starter laptop this would be perfect. And as well, RAM and HDD is easy to upgrade! I have one, lasted 3 years so far, and still going strong apart from the battery.

Granted, it overheats. But mine did not do this during the first 2 years, only just started. It also turns off sometimes. But a 3 year life is really the maximum you should expect from a laptop, especially at this price - I payed £500 for mine!

Why couldn't you run windows 7 on it. ? I put windows 7 pro and / ult on 3 of them with 1 gig and they are fine (well fine as in they run it no worse than an AtomCPU with 1 gig of ram)

£199 is not a bad price but £159 - £179 is a more realistic price

Spec-wise, the MSI blows the ASUS out of the water. 3GB RAM & 500 GB HDD & 256MG 8200M vs 2 GB RAM & 250 GB HDD & integrated graphics - for the same price.
ASUS has more heat, but more people watch the X-Factor than QI

Getting back to this deal, personally I wouldn't thank you if you gave me what is little more than netbook spec in a full-size laptop chassis - but for those with more basic needs, and for who a full-size screen and keyboard (and an optical drive) is a plus not a minus with this spec, it seems to be a stonking price. Whack in another gig of RAM and it could even be quite usable.
