Comet are selling one of the newly designed Acer laptops, the 5315 for £299.99 in store and online. It's a new model out. They were selling it for £399.99 a couple of weeks ago which is cerainly more than it should have been, but for £299.99 for a system that's 15" and 1gb RAM who can grumble?

IS this any good, Iwas just about to order one for my daughter?

Also, the pic shows it has a webcam but the description does not list it. Acer have no details of this, just the 5310. Finally, Play have it on preorder while Comet have stock now.
I picked one up for my aunt at the weekend. I thought it okay, the only thing I'm not sure about it the mousepad, its textued plastic which if used for a while I would suspect you would rub your finger print off!!

It works well and I was surprised it was as quick with vista, but then it does have the minimum spec where some lower end vista laptops are running only 512k so I can see why people argue its slow

In general a bit plastic but for £299 cant complain and far better that some others at similar pricing.
ps is there any codes to go with the 3% quidco for this one
