#5
Pretty good, shame about the celeron processor but looks ok for £229.
#6
I meant black plastic on the lid - need to find a laptop with a glossy black lid for the missus

#8
yeah not being funny, but the spec on this is the same as those you would find in woolies for £200... not a good price for a low end laptop, voted cold im afraid.

I held off from posting a negative append as it is still hard to find a new laptop for £229.

However the Celeron CPU in this laptop is about the slowest CPU being sold by ANY company at the moment.

And with 1Gb of memory it aint gonna run Vista that well.

Faster than all the atoms in these netbooks...
#12
I had a slower celeron in a 5315 and it ran vista just fine. It is miles ahead of the cheap no name rubbish and blows the atom netbooks out of the water. I know as I have had both.

This is a top price for a new laptop with a decent screen and dvdrw and will be just about fine for most people who do not do high power stuff and gaming:thumbsup:
#13
This laptop will be very slow with a celeron and 1gig of RAM if its vista. Might be good with extra RAM.

Yes this is definately worth the extra. I wish I didn't buy the Toshiba from CPW a few weeks ago for this one. Top spec processor and large HD.

I like Acers design style although Toshiba are probably a more reputable brand. I think its cheap to extent the warranties on Acers.

Intel Celeron M 575 + ATI Radeon 256 MB of dedicated system memory. Dedicated graphics???? Thats far more than most!

Intel Celeron M 575 = 2.0GHz

Something to bear in mind...................

"If youre just about to buy a Windows PC, you dont need to delay a free upgrade program is starting tomorrow, June 26th, that will mean anyone who buys a Windows Vista machine will get their upgrade to Windows 7 for free."

this laptop is much better, celerons suck so i voted lukewarm for the above laptop. posted the deal here http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/429449/acer-5920-15-4-inch-laptop-2ghz-cpu/
3 yr acer warranty £47 http://www.acerdirect.co.uk/Acer_Warranty_Service_Agreement_-_3_years_-_carry-in_SV.WPCAF.A03/version.asp?PID=131

Quidco - 5% for accessories, ringtones or other sales, including PAYG SIMs
Not sure, but I'd imagine it falls into that category, so that'd be £11 back.

Heat & rep added.
The spec might be relatively poor in comparison to newer and more expensive models, but this will be perfect for my 12yo.
There's a recession on, you know... ;-)

YOUR ORDER DETAILS
Order Date: 26/06/2009
Order Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Order total: 229.00
Order Contents:
1 x Acer Aspire 5335 15.6" Celeron Dual Core £229.00

Dual Core? Surely not...
I know nothing about computers. CPW website shows "Intel Celeron M 575" and a quick google indicates that's not dual core.
Not that she's likely to be doing anything that would require two processors.
Delivery tomorrow.

EDIT. Pfft. Delivery supposedly on Tues, but that was assuming the wife would hear them knocking at the door... Delivery on Thurs. With any luck...

This is 100% not the right price... these are £299, got them to check it on their national system.
#23
Showing as out-of-stock online.

But plenty available in CPW stores.

What's the story?
