I reckon this is a good deal but then I just bought one .Any experts out there want to give me good reason to search the fine print for 'how to cancel your order' or could i have done worse.

Im No expert but I am sure the same laptop was posted earlier today for £229.

oh no!! I'm never an impulsive buyer but this old Dell Vostro 1000 circa 2007 is as slow as a week in the jail. I snapped tonight and went to ebuyer in search of a replacement. I'm away to search the £229 model to compare.

not quite the same, this one has a 500GB HDD compared to 320GB, and has 4GB RAM instead of 3GB

the other deal

thanks tubby I just found the other deal. On the plus side it was eventually voted hot. I don't know if £40 is worth an extra 180GB HDD & 1GB of RAM but b******ks its ordered now.

sorry rugman you'll need to speak to me like a three year old ....core i3??? IS that Intel 3 I'm honestly like a child who wandered into a room here? Computers are not my thing.

I want to use this as a desktop PC it will be plugged in at all times and used to surf the internet, download a few dodgy torrents and give my 3 year old access to Barbie games.

i3 is a good processor in a laptop , faster than yours but for what you need, it dont matter

I wouldn't lose any sleep over that extra £40 tbh, you get a fair bit extra for it. The laptop looks good to me for what you want it for: plenty of RAM and hard drive space, decent processor and excellent (imo) operating system.

I believe I posted to a link to some refurbs which are much cheaper than this.
There is an Advent in the offer with a T3500 for under £170 after discount.

The 5750 I have isn't bad an was excellent value. If it does fall apart in 3 years its covered. If it falls apart after it will be due for replacement and have paid for itself anyway.
