Good price,

Heat added.

T3500 is very old and slow. Good price, but do heed slow performance and abysmal battery life. Will have to keep this one plugged in all the time.
Voted Hot.

Bummer! I bought one for £270 last month(somewhere else). Great price

This is good for the money, netbook price but without the tiny screen (and better performance all round except for the battery)

The T3500 isn't that old and gives perfectly adaquate performance for surfing and general office apps. It is significantly faster than my 2 year old Core 2 Duo which was considered pretty fast when I bought my laptop. Average CPU Mark 1439. 4400Ah battery is standard for budget laptops.

Your talking rubish. Slow is my knackered P4 2Ghz 256ram 30gb hd. Now thats slow. Lets put things into perspective. That laptop was over five times the price of this one. What do you expect for that money? Mt new one was 263, and that was a T3100 3GB ram, 500Hd. So it isnt a bad deal!

Decent spec, fantastic for the price.

LOL @ noobie saying T3500 is old and slow, that's all.

T3500 architecture was made in Q3-08. Which Core 2 Duo do you have?
Let's take something we had for long time bump up speed a little and put a different name on it. It will make all smart asses here think it's brand new.

I did not say it's a bad price, just warned everyone that it's slow. As it seems geniuses here think that T3500 is new. Does not have LED screen and unable to output HD via HDMI without lag. Something to keep in mind, as I'm sure many people unaware of that.

There is 330M available for 300.

There are also faster laptops than that for 400, it's irrelevant. This one is 230 and for the money it seems good. Review here was when it was 370: http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/laptops/acer-aspire-5336-review-50002932/

Precisely. If they're daft enough to buy old slow stuff that you need plugged in rather than as a laptop is SUPPOSED to be, it's their look out.

It's a very good price for this laptop, which makes it a very hot deal. If someone intends to use this laptop as s desktop and does not care about a battery life. If there are no plans to connect it to HD monitor/TV. For web browsing/watching videos it's a powerful machine.

Acer = Good spec (e-peen) rubbish build quality and screen.
#18
Good at this price point!
#19
Sorry but it's a Celeron, i've seen higher spec laptops for this
banned#20
My friend (a computer nerd) has the very same laptop and although he recently upgraded the ram - he thinks it's great. I think he paid about £400 only a few months ago. Good deal.

Stezo2k, could you tell me where? I'm looking to get one for a present within the next week.

And what would be the difference between Celeron, Pentium Dual Core and Core 2 Duo?

....in his dreams.
#24
Got this a few weeks at same price with free webroot and laptop case - amazing for the spec and price!
#25
good lappy for the price
#26
It bugs me when ppl bang on about this is a celeron so it's rubbish... This is more than acceptable if you are only interested in Office, Facebook\Twitter and p0rn. ;) Obviously, gamers look elsewhere. But for the money, better buy that any atom powered netbook or those over hyped tablets. (in my opinon!)

You mean luck out.A "look out" is something a pirate might use.

Calm down dear, it will be ok. Climb up to your look out and chill out.

Got it as a b'day prezzy for 14 yr old . Poor kid doesn't have a lappy .sob.
This will cheer him up. Voted hot.

Acer = Good spec (e-peen) rubbish build quality and screen.

its not 2005 anymore, come and join us... Acers are well build here in 2011

love these fools who are still moaning about Acer build quality X)
Oh and the CPU is fine for a basic user, again people moaning just because it wasnt released 4 minutes ago. If it does the job, and it does, then whats the prob? Or are you just brand obsessed idiots?

ive been in IT 17 years, Acers are fine, i recommend them to customers and have never had a complaint, i'd also recommend this machine to anyone whos needs are suited to its spec.

#32
Is this any good for editing 1080p or 720p camcorder footage?
#33

#34

My last two laptops (an ARSEPIRE 5335 and 5742z) were acer, the first had cheap creaky plastics but an ok ish screen, second had better plastics but screen was just pisspoor! Cant fault performance though on either, especially after upgradig the 5335's singe core celeron to a t5750.

Im not a fanboy mate, looks like you are!

Acer makes very reliable laptops nowadays, I would say better than many known brand names.

I got to admit there track pad annoys the hell out of me. Screen keeps on going out of focus all the time, when you just moving cursor around screen. Seems to zoom in all the time, and then you got todo that pinch action to get it smaller again. Well on my mothers one atleast. So I assume they have this software on all there laptops.
