Think its designed to play all types of DVD;s and CD's ... thats all.

Why the cold votes?? Compared to Dell deals, this is by far one of the cheapest at the moment.

get an xps, u cant go wrong, for the sake of an extra £50/100 u can have a laptop which is 10 times better and will last twice as long.

Any writable disk can record HD.

Double layer is the DL DVDs that have twice the capacity (9.6GB instead of 4.3GB), I would imagine supermulti just means it can write DVD+RW and DVD-RW.

I brought an Acer Aspire 5920 on Sunday and I love it! Voted hot, excellent for the price. Saw the advert on TV earlier today.

I do not vote.
Very good laptop...just overpriced ;) .It would be a bargain if it cost £300.

Most laptops would be a bargain if they were £300:whistling:

I'm new here but have to say I disagree. We have 3 Acer laptops ant home all networked and the youngest being 2 years old and they are great machines. Not had a bit of bother.

Where I work, we have Dell pc's and Dell laptops and as a technical help dept member I have to say there is not a day goes by without us either having to fix (Try) or contact Dell to come and fix or replace a unit. If I had a choice to buy any computer I would put Acer well above Dell on all levels.

On this deal I will vote HOT.........This is a good deal. We may be thinking of changing the older 2 units and this type of deal certainly appeals.

Have to agree with all that but I'm afraid you're up against a lot of pro Dell sheep on this site. Best not to bite and leave them to their delusions.
