You pay the price it is on the day you collect it unfortunately as I found out when I reserved something once.

I think this £50-£80 cheaper Compaq is better value http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/compaq-presario-15-6-laptop-2-2ghz-/801853 - The Compaq has a significantly faster CPU, but slower graphics, it has 1Gb less ram but a faster HDD. The compaq doesn't have a webcam though...

I'd rather pay the extra £ and get the Acer.

I couldn't find any reviews to compare the two; On the face of it they're largely the same apart from the CPU, (significantly faster + slightly more power hungry on the Acer). Tesco have the weight wrong - it's around 2.7kg - so both are similar size and weight.

If you've nothing against Compaq I reckon that Compaq at bestbuy.com I linked to might suit you - it doesn't have a built-in webcam; but it'll let you play the bingo; the Op reckoned quidco tracked at 10% so he got his for £270 [BUT: as keer-en pointed out the Acer had a three year warranty while the compaq is only 1 year]

Better GPU, webcam, 1gb more RAM and 2 years addtional warranty. Granted the HDD doesn't spin as fast but I would be less worried about that than the other things I mentioned.

Personally I can get by without a webcam and the difference between a weedy GPU and totally weedy GPU doesn't matter too much to me - faster processor and disk would be useful.

But I hadn't spotted the difference on warranty - thanks for pointing it out - that's definitely worth the extra £50-£80 on it's own...

I have the GMA4500HD in my current laptop, the ATI in the Acer scorces around twice as much in 3d Mark '06 plus it has 256mb deticated RAM for the GPU compared to the shared memory on the GMA. There is a fair difference between the two if you want to play games (older games obviously). But obviously there is no point in going for the better GPU if you only intend to browse the web...
