Nice one. I was going to post it now but you have already posted.

The only reason I would not recommend Acer is because of their service. I bought Acer 5920G from Cdiscount 5 month ago. The battery of it became dead - it was holding 8 minutes only! So called Acer and they said send us whole laptop when other companies are sending new battery and you send the faulty one back. Now I am waiting my Acer to come back maybe in a week. I have there will not be any cracks on it as some people have seen it after Acer's repair.

But overall this is excellent deal for a performance laptop. Changing Vista Home to a 64-bit would make this computer even more powerful.

Too many deals!

Which to go for? The Acer or the Dell?! http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/407362/vostro-1520-15-4-display-core-2-duo/
#7
dell vostro 1520 from yesterday might be a better deal. if you add 4gb of ram it still come under 400 quid inclusive vat and free delivery. think people.
banned#8
hi guys does any one know that quidco works on these deals or not?
#9
Personally I'd get a dell as I don't trust the aspire warranty.

However the acer is a much more sexy machine. The vostro, although robust is quite chunky. I'm using one right now.

I need to send my 5920G back to Acer as the silly plastic hinge has cracked after 9 months. Contacted Acer and they asked me to email my invoice to them but not heard back since. I can only think I must have written the email address down wrong.

Looks good this....

Where does it mention the £80 account credit mate? Do you get the voucher upon purchase...?
#15
Looks like a good specced machine for the money. Suggest you try and look at one somewhere first though, I almost bought an Acer a while ago until I saw how cheap it looked and felt. That for me would make the Dell deal worth looking at.
#16
it states 20% account credit and free p&p on the homepage, these machines do look very good, the spec is great also, especially for the money, £320 effective cost...WHAT A BARGAIN.

You better call them. You will probably will need to pay for postage. Just to makes thing more secure I recently bought extended warranty for £25 from acerdirect.co.uk

Dells look and feels cheaper (except XPS series) they screens shake like jely after a while.

Great deal for a 4GB machine with a Core 2 Duo Processor at £320. I've just ordered this for a friend, but I have owned Acers for the last 5 years and never had one bit of trouble with them. The 3 month interest free payment scheme at cDiscount is also not to be sniffed at!

So now with the Dell Vostro deal expiring, is this currently the best deal for a budget laptop? I'm currently running on a 5year old Vaio, with 512mb RAM and a slow processor, need to be able to use LightRoom and Photoshop with relative ease. 4gb RAM would assist here, I'm right in thinking?

The 80 cashback thing is a bit annoying, as obviously I'd rather it was a straight price of £320, but will end up buying something purely to sell on again.
#21
So when exactly do you get the £80 vouchers then?
#22
Nezell

The account credits for this offer will be applied on or around the 12th of June

Kind regards

Thanks for that confirmation.

Is there any way to see if the credit note worked somewhere in the ‘my account’ section? Because I can see no reference to it anywhere on my account.

Also – how come no-one (as far as I can see) mentioned Quidco? Mine tracked last night?

when does this 20% run out... is it tonight?
