Not bad! Worth noting it has vista.
Heat.

Theres nothing wrong with Vista provided you keep it up to date. Vista hating went out with the ark as it USED to be rubbish. Fortunately Microsoft are not stupid and release UPDATES, try installing them and see what happens before slating a perfectly good OS like uninformed sheep (_;)

It may be the relentless installing of 'updates' that bugs people..

Vista or not it's OOS now

Excellent specs for the price - budget another £40 for Windows 7 to make it a really good laptop.

great spec for just over £300 definitely hot from me.

Argh! So annoying, I had in my basket, went to look for a promotional code I had and in the meanwhile the stock finished!! Was a great deal though!!

ps. Vista is definitely inferior to 7

I doubt that many would even know though as it will usually auto update anyway?!?! All Im saying is that there may be hardcore bunch of people who can't get some obscure program to work on Vista but I doubt 7 will offer any better compatibility.

For 99% of people Vista will be fine, I use it daily on 3 PC's and have yet to find any problem. I just don't think that comments that slate a perfectly good OS are helpful to people who may not know better, it may sway them from what is in essence a decent machine.

Yeh, great spec but crap imo, the build quality on acer products is appalling. If you don't mind a laptop that overheats & switches off whenever it likes get one of these. I know this as I have one ! I will never purchase an Acer product again, seems common with this company that they have design faults, which can only be fixed at cost or by invalidating your warranty. Mine now sits on a cooler 24/7 and still cuts out whenever it feels ! My advice avoid at all costs !

agreed and get 64 bit version to make use of 4GB Ram. It comes with Vista 32bit which is odd as that only supports 3GB of Ram meaning 1 GB is not used :|

Probably should have decided whether to purchase it before I posted this deal... sold out in minutes! :p

It's strange to me, that this Pc comes with vista, inrelation to spec of it. You would have thought it would have windows 7 in first place

spec of this machine was available 12-18months ago for around 500quid at dell so not surprising at all

because it was released before widows 7 and unfortunately they hadn't invented time travel!

could you tell me what is relentless about vista auto-updating in the background without you having to click a button?

it's more like 3.25-3.5GB 32bit can use and even then the video card might take some before that, so in truth you might be using 90% of available ram.
