This seems to be the best laptop i can find for my budget of around £500, I'm going to use it for University work, i'm dong Games Design so i can expect to be running some fairly hungry power hungry 3D Modelling software, 3DS Max, Maya etc.

I am submitting it as i could not find this exact one on here with a review. I will be using it for mild gaming, i'd like it to run World of Warcraft on decent specs and maintain framerate. If this cannot run the 3D software it isn't a massive issue as i can always use University resources.

* Windows® 7 Home Premium
* Intel® Core2 Duo processor T6600 (2.2 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
* 4GB Memory
* 320 GB HDD
* 15.6" HD Acer CineCrystal LCD
* DVD-Super Multi DL drive
* ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
* Multi-in-1 card reader
* Acer Nplify802.11a/b/g/n
* Acer Crystal Eye webcam

I do intend to be hooking it up to my 22" HDTV probably by VGA, Would this work well? I could also have another HDMI cable and switch between Xbox 360 and laptop, or is VGA better?

This site was reccomended by a friend and really hope for some answers as i have been watching this laptop for a while and £500 doesn't come along very often for me so i need it to be a worthwhile buy.

You're much better off connecting to your HDTV via HDMI as the native resolution is likely to be something like 1920*1050 if it's widescreen. That's how I'm plugged into mine, albeit on a desktop PC, and it works fine.

Your alternative is to get an HDMI to DVI adapter or cable, depending on the connectors on the laptop/TV.

Looks like a nice laptop though, I must say - I play less WoW than I used to, but I've been looking into a laptop that I could raid on, and they all seem to have fairly low graphics solutions on here recently.

Yeah ive kinda always been a console gamer till WoW, i'm pretty much oblivious to all PC Components, I'm a software man haha my friend would probably also slap me for asking that. He can make an uber PC up in 5 mins but he knows nothing of laptops so he is no help here. The only friend i have who knows laptops has just bought the new alienware, and now all he does is bums that and tells me to save up for one of my own... I'm not paying for a brand!!

theirs not much diff between the concept of computer components be it desktop or laptop.

One more thing, For £500 you can find really good laptops. I personally wont pay 500 for this, Yesterday i bought a laptop acer 5738z for £247 from my friend. Which still has got 11 months warranty left. It has hdmi and surround sound. 500 is too much for these specs to be honest

Well i have yet to find a similar laptop for cheaper, the things that are a must for me are definately the dedicated graphics card (i would never go integrated) and i don't think i could part with the dual-core processor for the kind of use it's going to be getting.

Could you at all suggest a better place for getting these specs cheaper of even better specs and i keep the budget at 500??

look for Fujitsu PI 3560 for around the £550 mark or £599 with bluray from BT, it has a good graphics card.

Acer are very hard to beat in terms of spec but the build quality is poor.
