Nice find, very tempting although there is not a lot wrong my trusty 3 year old Acer despite being heavily used daily. I just want to upgrade the spec and get one with a built in webcam so this seems ideal for me.

Not buying yet because my sensible head is on but the wine is about to be opened so might change my mind in a few glasses time when sensible head is replaced by fuzzy happy head ;)

Did you get if from eBay?

It seems like a good deal but if you got it for sub £300 I don't want to pay anymore.

I think you'd do really well to find it currently at £299.

Got one of these for my mum at £299 a while back (no longer available at this price). Awesome. Metal finish too. Nice long battery life too.

Yeah,
It was when ebay were doing the 10% off the outlots, so it was 329.99 - 10% bringing it down to the £299

Thanks

battery life?

Very small offset trackpad is a deal-breaker. Big trackpads ala Apple are being adopted even on cheap laptops now.

What a stupid comment, larger track-pads while obviously nicer to have are otherwise something you do get used to. Hardly a dealbreaker IMO unless you are super picky. The worse trend on laptop track-pads has been the switch to single rocker designs rather than have separate buttons which unfortunately is something that Acer has done on this model. But otherwise this is a nice specification for a very good price (i.e budget price but in no way budget spec unless you are a gamer) so I voted hot.

@greavesy1984, battery life is around 3 hours typically so not great but probably ok if you're not planning to be away from the mains for too long (- some people just need a laptop that easy to move from one room to another). Otherwise, you might want to look at one of the TimelineX models, or alternatively the Timeline 3810TG if you're ok with something less powerful (but ultimately more portable).

I have one of these, paid a lot more than this too!!

Highly recommend, great lappy, excellent keyboard and layout, trackpad is directly below the letters as it should be.

Bought 2 of these, one while the 10% offer was on and another after it had finished. They are refurbished as both had an A4 sheet inside with the refurb companys name. Saying that they looked like brand new and came in original boxes. Good spec for the price as you'd have to pay £400 minimum for a new one.

I bought one for £300 using the Ebay Christmas vouchers last month, in fact I am using it now. Nice powerful laptop and I would recommend it. The only niggle is that wi-fi does not work very well in the bedroom above the room in which the router is situated, whereas my previous computer (Acer Revo) connected fine every time.

bought this from comets when they had a code of 5% worked out at 284.99 great little lappy only thin i dont like is the mouse controller when u click it seems very tacky

5% off taking it to £285 would mean it's only £300 full price - was it on sale or reduced? It's not in there now, but I've never seen it so cheap.

Bought one of these recently pretty powerful, battery life could have been a bit better, don't like the screen though (bit too bright).

Got mine yesterday - it's very very very nice looking.
Downsides are it's just simply not that fast. I was hoping it would knock my work dual-core Centrino into a cocked hat....and it just doesn't.
For £333 it's a good laptop. But it's jaw-dropping looks aren't matched by the performance.
