Not a bad budget model with HDMI and 64-bit Windows. CPU is a bit sluggish though (CPU benchmark 1,394).

Is this suitable for web browsing and using microsoft office? Can it be connected to an external monitor?

Is this better than the Lenovo G560 they have on the website?

laptops are frantically dropping in price due to the popularity of smartphones and tablet pcs.

if you can hold out till the end of the year you'll be able to get seriously high spec laptops at bargain prices.

Processor about the same. The Lenovo G560 has less memory and a smaller disk.

In specs they are extremely similar it has to be said (The toshiba's processor may be much newer than the intel chip in the acer, but their benchmarks are almost identical). The acer does have a hdmi port though, whereas the tosh makes do with vga only. Toshiba do have a better reputation in terms of reliability than acer though. In terms of fit and finish, the acer is far nicer IMHO. I handled this very toshiba the other day and i was really surprised by the flimsiness of the materials. I handled a very similar acer to this a couple of months ago and it was far nicer looking back on it. Slimmer and felt better built. If it were me, i'd be going for the acer, even if they were the same price

"Intel® GMA X4500 3D Graphics with up to 384MB Shared Memory" ???

From what I know P6000 is based on the Arrandale CPUs and therefore contains an integrated memory controller and Intel HD Graphic card called GMA HD.
The performance of the GMA HD is noticable better than the old GMA 4500MHD. In some games, the GMA HD is even as fast as a GeForce 9400M / ION chipset. On average it should be as fast as the HD 3200 / 4200.
