Acer Aspire 5742G - I3 / dedicated graphics £430.00 @ saveonlaptops.co.uk
Saw this one while looking for a good all-round laptop. High end I3 processor and a fairly decent dedicated grahpics. Best price i've seen for anything this good. Not sure of any downsides to this really.

Jump to unread Post a CommentThanks for the feedback, I still think it's a pretty good machine for the price. I dont really get the difference in the generations of the i3/5/7 processors, when really shouldn't it just come down to raw power, rather than just what year it's made? I totally agree with you on the USB 3.0 part though, however personally i'm willing to oversee that in exchange for being able to play most modern games, but I suppose that isn't everyone's cup of tea.

If you really need the weak graphics card, this look at this lenova z570 as it more modern with sandybridge, 8gb,750gb - £429 for today only
or this medion with an i5-480,usb3 @ £429
Otherwise, i5 sandybridge for this price or lookout for a proper graphics card
I wrote a reply to this before, but it seems to have not shown up. Basically I did some checking, and I've decided to go with the Medion (Much thanks btw). As a casual gamer I'm not a fan of intergrated graphics, in benchmarking even the i5 HD graphics doesn't come close to the 520M, which is apparently even worse than the 420M. Why cant laptops just be as simple as PC's...
