You could refuse delivery and it will got straight back to buyer, or you could accept it and send it back due to distance selling regulations and all that.
#13
can't decide between this or the em732 for £30 more.

In the first instance, i'd phone ebuyer customer service and politely ask them to match the price. If they cannot/wont, then you can politely point out that under the distance selling regulations, you intend to reject the item and ask them to issue you with a returns reference. Once it has arrived, they have to arrange collection at their expense. A good customer service dept would refund the £30 with a smile but sometimes the computer systems and/or authority to act is so inflexible, there's nothing they can do. If it was me, i'd have a pop at getting £30 back and if l failed, i'd be tempted to keep the computer and put it down to 'you win some, you lose some'.

Oops it's £40 difference not £30 - would edge me a tad nearer to going to the bother of returning it.

Forgive my lack of knowledge but what is Eset Nod32 and how does a new machine become infected with viruses? Thanks.

Normally a new machine wouldn't be full of virus's but youve got yo remeber the laptop comes with loads of software preinstalled

Graphics
UMA – integrated

Below review is about UMA - integarated Graphics card from PCWORLD

UMA chip sets are typically put into systems that come with an integrated graphics chip and no dedicated video memory. Instead they borrow some memory from your system RAM. This is common on some of today's less-expensive systems; the integrated graphics chip and UMA chip set reduce the system's overall cost.

So while the Aptiva has 64MB of RAM, 8MB of that are dedicated for video and you won't be able to use them. If you want more system RAM, you'll need to add it.

As important as losing the 8MB of system RAM: Video performance is marginal on UMA systems because the graphics controller and system processor have to contend with each other for system-memory bandwidth. So if you like to play PC games or plan to use your system for graphics-intensive applications such as video editing, don't try to save a few bucks by buying one of these systems.

If you want to find out if a system you're buying has an integrated graphics board or a UMA design, check the products specs--and call the vendor. IBM (and most other companies that use UMA chip sets) indicates in its product specifications if a system uses integrated graphics. The keyword to look for is integrated. If you see that, call the vendor to find out if the integrated graphics chip has dedicated video memory or if it borrows from system RAM.

Note that is an article from 2000 so while not incorrect, integrated graphics have advanced some since then.
