I've been looking for the best laptop deal for a few days and this seems to be one of the best. Are the i5's that much better than the i3's? I've seen an i3 380 with 4gb RAM, 320gb hd (Toshiba) for the same price, but I'm liking this as well.

Also, where did you see that code, can we use it against anything?

Cheers Voyager

Looks good! You are correct...it is cheapest in Amazon compared to others. Unable to trace any reviews for this. Will post the link if I find one.

I assume the code is applicable to only this laptop. However, worth a try (_;)

Heat added, but I prefer my deal on the ASUS from Comet......

Better make, better processor, more RAM, bigger HDD, more stylish and better speakers for only £44.61 more......

If all things were equal i'd always go for Tosh over Acer. The Cinebench R10 benchmark test over on notebookcheck.net shows there's little in the cpu/graphics performance (Intel Core i3 380M = 6551.7, Intel Core i5 450M = 6649.5) BUT the Tosh does not appear to have an hdmi out connector. If that's correct, that would be the Tosh deal killer for me as it's such a useful feature to have. Hope that helps.

Has that Tosh only got 2 USB's?
Shocking!

I've gone for this, for the price just can't say no. I like the Asus as well, but don't think I'd need the extras. Cheers again Voyager

Most welcome :)

Amazing price but there's already too many laptops in the house!

Good deal for an i5. I'm going to wait a bit longer for a i7 with dedicated graphics.

I don't know about top end models, but ALL the main and average specced Toshibas have only 2 USB ports, pretty pathetic imho, and quite definitely putting me off buying one of them! I've got a USB hub but I really don't want something else dangling from my laptop, time Toshiba wakened up!

Another good spec lappy with a standard screen res. I'm waiting for a 15" with a higher res

then you'll need to pay couple hundred extra for it^^ (well and for the other stuff)
hardly any come with more than this apart from the premium spec and configurables like dell/sony (600 or so for the sony same as this with 1080p and ati 5470)
