ugly looking thing, but nice deal

What is the ACTUAL processor?

Very vague in the description, and the link.

(no criticism of the OP, just an observation)

T5750, 2.0GHz, 667MHz PSB, 2MB L2 Cache

Hope that helps. Just reading the spec off the sticky label on the front of my 5920G.

Hi Zappster1966

I bought mine maybe September last year from Currys, they had it in their sale knocked down from £599 to £529 (I think it was that). I'd been using a 5 y/o Acer laptop before then so anything for me really was an improvement.

Lookswise I think it's quite funky. It's got a beautiful black shiny top, open it up & the keyboard is a typical beige job, I think it's attractive but each to their own I guess. My gf thinks it looks ugly but nvrm.

Can't think of any major downsides. It does tend to get very warm underneath, for reasons unknown. Battery life for me is about 2 hours max. Comes with Vista, which I've never liked & rarely use ... the first week I installed Linux Ubuntu / dual boot & I only use that operating system rather than Vista ... with Linux it absolutely flies along.

I'm really, really happy with it. No problems whatever.

My mate has one (but doesn't know the processor lol).

It looks ace, and very smart.

Not my thing (too underpowered) but he'd recommend it

The CDiscount one does not have a BluRay drive, whereas this one does. there are several models in the Acer 5920 range...

gets warm at the back left because thats where the graphics card is located. I love my laptop. Especially being able to connect it to my tv to watch blu-ray films
