You've missed the point.

He ordered it yesterday when it was at a lower price than what this deal is showing now.

It didn't say used. Also, shows as your Amazon.co.uk Purchase from Amazon EU S.Ã .r.l.

I have attached a copy of the important info bar my personal details from my confirmation email.

As for not posting it, well, I don't need to justify what I do to anyone but I found it when out shopping with friends. I stumbled across it using my mobile phone internet and after that I didn't think "I better post it!"

Sorry, got better things to do with my time. I just posted to say good deal but it has been cheaper.

Rep to the op by the way. Let me know how you get on with it if you get one.

Amazon does make mistakes sometimes but usually honours the price. I got a hoover once for £78 when it was misprint (full price £178).

At the time I didn't know about HotUK but if I had put this on here, some moorons would have ordered not just one but crazy numbers and therefore spoiled it for everyone.

So, I understand why this £240 offer (prob mispriced) was not put on here.

I know. Maybe I should have put a emoticon after my message for 'Why didn't you share it' since it was meant in good humour.

Monkey Nuts, thanks for making this deal look even better.

Can we post eBay deals here?
Found some decent laptop ones but never see other eBay threads, guessing it's a no no?
#14
Wouldn't touch an Acer they're crud.

I think this is pricy. This is a typical budget laptop suitable only for internet browsing. Only good thing about it would be big screen. Screen quality is very nice also, don't like anything else about it.

250 is a good deal, 400 should land something better. Better webcam and more memory, extra USB ports.

Btw, X3100 graphics is terrible.
#16
I got the the blu ray version of this last year (7720G) - had cold boot problems right from the get go, got a replacement and exact same prob so just ditched acer and got an HP instead (minus the blu-ray) not such good spec but have had no probs with it so far. Doubt i'd give acer another chance after that experience.

Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB RAM can only manage internet browsing? :whistling::p If only you knew what I do with my Intel Atom.

As you say it has a pretty decent screen; admittedly the graphics are not up to much - but otherwise you're way off the mark; I think you'd be hard put to find a 17" laptop with these specs for a lot less and how you can say 4 USB ports are too few for a laptop?

Having two Acers myself I wouldn't expect much battery life out of this with it's 17" screen and 6-cell battery - but the low-end graphics will save you power ;-)

If you make comments like this, then for people with £400 to spend on a laptop, it would be more helpful to give an example or two of these better laptops you mention at this price point.

Unfortunately, you need more than 2GB for Vista. Why putting a premium version of Vista if this laptop is not capable of supporting aero interface? For Media center?

WTF!

Vista runs FINE on 2GB!

Yes, it's nicer with 4GB - but it'll run fine with 2GB.

It's only when you get 1 or less GB that you get issues with Vista...

This laptop will run Aero just fine...

Agreed. I have a Dell Vostro 1500 with 2GB of RAM and it runs Vista Premium fne.

Got my hulk of an Acer up and running (VISTA) now and it runs well.

Never had a 17" laptop before. It's a little, erm, big!

My old acer 5710 runs Vista with 2GB just fine, and with Aero on the intel integrated graphics card.
