I had posted a query about the site before, but no one bothered to reply [*edit* dvhendo did, but still didn't really answer my question lol], so I'll ask it again.

"Has anyone ever used saveonlaptops before?"

how is this a great deal? old vista, core 2 duo which is quite old now, for £200 cheaper you can get the same or better spec

If you've seen a better laptop for this sort of price please enlighten us and point the way to it. Having spent all day searching, this is the best I've found.

I haven't used them myself but nearly did a while back but then found a different package I wanted. Here are some reviews:

I looked at those before, but to be honest I don't trust the reviews as there are a few repeat offenders, suggesting that the ratings are being made up by the company.

The reviews that seemed legit were the ones from unhappy customers.

Where Lol, never on your nelly!
A Full HD 18.4 Screen - Blu-Ray etc, Space for an extra 2.5" Drive.
This is a BARGAIN price.

I bought the 8935G from them when it was on here 2 months ago!, never had a problem.

For £699 a Quad core:

Where will you get a decent Core2, bluray laptop for £249? lol

Echo the comments on cheap cause its Vista, but they are offering Win7 upgrade media for £49 extra. Also gotta factor most people want thin and light stuff, not huge 18.4" glorifed UPS desktop replacements.

Cracking price tho, not so sure on the company like others.

I've used them once. Paid for the 2 day service and it arrived next day; glad I didn't waste money on next day.

Might be useful if you could post the spec in the original post, so lazy gits like myself don't have to click a button.
EDIT: that is a decent spec by the way, for the money anyway.
Very heavy mind you, and 1 to 2 hours battery life is being optimistic IMO. I bet it won't last even an hour when you've got it going at full whack.
Still, good price overall IMO.

Hmm thanks for the mostly positive response.

And Villa, yeah ok, I'll add that now. I'll be ordering this bad boy in a day or two I think, before they run out of stock!

Got one of these myself. Had it for the past 8 months and its a great laptop.

Brilliant display - great for watching bluray movies although the sound can be a little tinny.

Please remember if you're considering this, it is a monster of a laptop. Not the most portable.

I'm not a big gamer but I've been playing older games like Crysis, HL2, Far Cry 2 and more recently Napoleon Total War. It handles these really well on detailed settings.

Overall its a great buy and at this price its definately worth a look.

Cracking deal! Shame the processor isn't that little bit better but i think that may be asking alot for £500.

Good graphics and the screen is going to be glorious!

Been using this lappy for a while. Has issues with Win 7 ultimate 64bit. Can't pinpoint where it lies though - it will continually seize up upon resume from sleep or hibernation. Also has crashed several times out of the blue.

Having said all of that, when it works 90% of the time, it is an excellent bit of kit. The LED screen is vibrant and the keyboard is a beaut. The trackpad is multi gesture as well! I haven't pushed it in terms of gaming, but it has done a good job of multitasking PhotoShop CS4, Ableton 8, Itunes and Acer Arcade (the blu ray player) without signs of slowdown or struggle.
