If you think this laptop is big, think again. It's huuuuuuuuuuuuge!

Normal selling price is £600 delivered, so while not a bargain you can save a few quid here.

Seriously, just buy a 23" screen and hook it up to your existing laptop, this thing is insane.

Its not a laptop its a DTR (Desktop Replacement)

Try to find a laptop case to put it in.... like the previous poster said its a desktop replacement not a laptop... I certainly wouldn't want to carry it around.... Its not exactly fantastic spec either for the price apart from the 18" screen...

One of those wheely carry-on suitcases should fit. :-D

Having tried this type of thing once, and wasted hundreds, it IS madness. Get a desktop, make space for it, (in this case, it will be easy enough!) you even have less junk plugged in, as you can have it all in the box; as well as getting a faster, cheaper, quieter machine that can take 24 hour/7 day use unlike a "laptop," and when it goes bust, it is easy to replace just the broken part, not be left with enormous repair bills such as when the monitor went bust on mine!

It seemed a good idea, it wasn't :-(

Laptops are fantastic for portability, but if you don't need that (or it is so gigantic as to be impractical as in this case!) forget it!

Laptop cases are about http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=338248&sourceid=2012 . I have this case and it is extremely good quality for only £34.

I have to admit I wouldn't get this one as it doesn't fit the DTR mode very well. I have the 18.4" Acer with a P8400 chip so runs at 2.26Ghz and has the much better bus speed of 1066Mhz. Plus blueray and full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. Yes it's heavy but I need this size of display and performance as I use it to show clients pictures and slideshows. 4Gb of memory and 2 x 320Gb 7200 hard drives is in mine. http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/6736219/Acer-Aspire-8930-844G32Bn-Gemstone-Core-2-Duo-P8400-2-26GHz-4GB-320GB-18-4-Blu-Ray-Vista-Home-Premium-Laptop-Notebook/Product.html# I only use this as a portable.

My mate was saying he needs something of similiar spec to this and thought it was a good deal so i thought i'd post and see what the masses think? He's an architect student so needs good grphics for 3d modelling and a decent porcessor, RAM aint an issue, easy to upgrade? any suggestion for under £600?

i think this is a good deal too voted hot. not alot of laptops have 9600gt at this price. 3 yr laptop warranty is only £46 for those who are unsure about acer http://www.acerdirect.co.uk/Acer_Warranty_Service_Agreement_-_3_years_-_carry-in_SV.WPCAF.A03/version.asp?PID=131

cheapest laptop case i can find is for £19.50 http://www.johnlewis.com/230527458/Product.aspx
