Uhmm incase anyone thought this was a serious comment.. its not, i recommend saving the £20, sell the 500gb hdd, and purchase an ssd, it'll make every pc much faster, it's a good long term investment

Just bought one of these for my Mum. Keyboard is solid, screen ok, webcam works. Great basic laptop for £179 = hot for me.

Bought one of these for the other half and very impressed so far, (other than Windows Update throwing a few wobblies but that's nothing to do with the laptop). The intended use is only really word processing and web viewing so nothing too taxing, but it's much better quality and faster than I thought it would be.

That said, despite the model number and the sticker on the front of the case indicating a dual core N2840 processor, both Windows and the Acer Maintenance program are reporting a quad core N2920 which is a bonus I think even though I think it's an older processor???

Anyone else checked theirs?

Just picked mine up as well, and both the maintenance program and Windows itself are reporting it being a N2920 processor.

Well worth it if it really is a Quad Core CPU inside!

Yep, mine's an N2920 too. It's a quad core but not a fast one.
